Looking for a small carry weapon...

Recommended Posts

Check out the S&W model 342. I've got one and it is so light that you can forget that it is in your pocket. Loaded with Buffalo 158 lead HP (1040 fps out of a 2" barrel!!! ) and you've got something.
Don't get a 25. I was working with a guy in a housing project when he was hit IN THE HEAD with a 25 round meant for someone else. Shooter was 30 yards away. Round did not penetrate his skull, and he didn't know he had been shot until some one found the bullet. Just got a gash.

personally speaking, I am preferential to Glocks, but that is my choice. I would not go below a 9mm round and would actually recommend a 40 or 45 cal.(for stopping power. CROC's reply above about a small caliber 25 just bouncing off someones forehead makes a good point of the uselessness of small rounds).
Depending on the make and model, you could get a single or double stack magazine. Just remember, the bigger and fatter the gun, the less likely that you carry it, and a gun not carried is useless.
I base this off of being a police officer for 14 years and a SWAT officer for 10. Whatever you get, be very familiar with it, know how to shoot it hold it etc...Finger off the trigger unless you plan on pulling it and shooting what you are aiming at. I could go on but this is long enough already
