So you think restaurants who try to influence eating behaviors are part of the "nanny state?" I don't think I could have given you a better lob. I should have clarified I was talking about the food nazis at CSPI.
lawrocket 3 #5 February 27, 2007 That's why legislatures are there, professor - to prevent the flagrant abuse by industry that causes the declining health of the population. Why, just the other day I went to a restaurant for lunch and saw something absolutely exquisite - fettucini alfredo with chicken and pancetta. I'm telling you, my arteries were clotting just thinking about it. Add to that some garlic and cheese breadsticks (garlic to help ease the cholesterol burden - kinda my own personal way of doing cholesterol offsets) and I was drooling. To be healthy, I'd eat asalad with ham, bacon, eggs and cheese for protein (and some Italian dressing - it was an Italian restaurant) and I would be full for a while. But, not full enough to decline the cheesecake for dessert. Then I said to myself, "Self - that's what you used to do when you weighed 50 pounds more than you do now, and you are not exactly emaciated right now." So, I decided on lemon herb chicken, and some broccoli. Amazingly, I avoided overeating. My wife is hotter than your wife.
