James Cameron, the man who brought you 'The Titanic' is back with another blockbuster. This time, the ship he's sinking is Christianity. In a new documentary, Producer Cameron and his director, Simcha Jacobovici, make the starting claim that Jesus wasn't resurrected --the cornerstone of Christian faith-- and that his burial cave was discovered near Jerusalem. And, get this, Jesus sired a son with Mary Magdelene. No, it's not a re-make of "The Da Vinci Codes'. It's supposed to be true. Let's go back 27 years, when Israeli construction workers were gouging out the foundations for a new building in the industrial park in the Talpiyot, a Jerusalem suburb. of Jerusalem. The earth gave way, revealing a 2,000 year old cave with 10 stone caskets. Archologists were summoned, and the stone caskets carted away for examination. It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua. Israel's prominent archeologist Professor Amos Kloner didn't associate the crypt with the New Testament Jesus. His father, after all, was a humble carpenter who couldn't afford a luxury crypt for his family. And all were common Jewish names. There was also this little inconvenience that a few miles away, in the old city of Jerusalem, Christians for centuries had been worshipping the empty tomb of Christ at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Christ's resurrection, after all, is the main foundation of the faith, proof that a boy born to a carpenter's wife in a manger is the Son of God. But film-makers Cameron and Jacobovici claim to have amassed evidence through DNA tests, archeological evidence and Biblical studies, that the 10 coffins belong to Jesus and his family. Ever the showman, (Why does this remind me of the impresario in another movie,"King Kong", whose hubris blinds him to the dangers of an angry and very large ape?) Cameron is holding a New York press conference on Monday at which he will reveal three coffins, supposedly those of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. News about the film, which will be shown soon on Discovery Channel, Britain's Channel 4, Canada's Vision, and Israel's Channel 8, has been a hot blog topic in the Middle East (check out a personal favorite: Israelity Bites) Here in the Holy Land, Biblical Archeology is a dangerous profession. This 90-minute documentary is bound to outrage Christians and stir up a titanic debate between believers and skeptics. Stay tuned. --Tim McGirk/Jerusalem SMileseustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being. tbrown 26 #2 February 26, 2007 I'm a little curious as to where James Cameron can find "DNA evidence" to authenticate whether or not a family of bodies that has been entombed for thousands of years can be THE holy family. Please understand that I don't particularly hold to the story of the Resurrection either and I'm familiar with the arguments about Judaism, Mithraism, and early Christianity adapting from a Jewish sect to a Gentile religion. But where did Cameron get his "DNA evidence" from ? The Imperial Roman DMV perhaps ?? Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
livetofall 0 #3 February 26, 2007 Thats what has me laughing. What a goof. So does he plan on asking Jesus to show up for a DNA test? Since there is noone proven to be kin of Jesus of Nazareth what would they have to compare to? Just shows how many retard boob tube droolers there are that hear a powerword like "DNA" and would even bother to watch, and why once again CNN stands for the communist news network..anything to opiate the masses against jesuit religion. Among the major discoveries chronicled in the program is new evidence that Jesus and Mary Magdalene, also known as "Mariamene e Mara," may have had a son named Judah. ----- - Leading epigraphers agree about the text inscriptions; - Expert archaeologists confirm the nature of the finds and their historical relevance; - The tomb contains a mysterious symbol over the entrance found on other Christian artifacts; and - A statistical study concludes that the odds - on the most conservative basis - are 600 to 1 in favor of this being the Jesus family tomb. Dr. Carney Matheson from the Paleo-DNA Laboratory at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada, conducted a mitochondrial DNA analysis on microscopic bits of matter recovered from the "Jesus son of Joseph" and "Mariamene e Mara" ossuaries. The test genetically concludes that the two were not maternally related. Given that this was a family burial place reserved for spouses and blood relations, it is possible to deduce that they were a couple. SMiles

I watched the very first (William Hartnell) episode back in '63. I wasn't all that much of a fan of The Doctor.... Until The 9th and 10th Doctor, Christopher Ecclestone & David Tennant (and of course the frankly irreplaceable Billie Piper). FINALLY the Fx and production values do justice to the exceptionally sharp scripts! If Y'All get chance to see them (I think they're being shown in Canada), then Take it! Unfortunately, I suspect that they'll be very marginal in America. Some of the episodes feature a heroic American Homer-Sex-You-All in a major role. Never mind the monsters, that'll REALLY scare your Bible-Belt TV execs! Mike. Taking the piss out of the FrenchAmericans since before it was fashionable. On youtube search for: doctor who part 1 The other parts should also get linked if you see an episode you like (and you can click on the poster to get them too) episode names should help your search, you can also look up an episode guide online and search for specific episodes. For example: doctor who dalek 2005 part Also try searching for: Torchwood Part 1 The first episode will come up searching for: torchwood everything changes I like it almost as much as the new Dr Who. You're in for a treat. I've seen them all :-( It's best to watch them in order.

My understanding is Tombs with the names The Virgin Mary, Jesus of Nazareth, Mary Magdalene and Judas, their son, are found and an investigation is made. It is the central tenet of Christian faith that, some time around 30 AD, Jesus of Nazareth rose from the dead three days after his crucifixion. The Resurrection is described in each of the four Gospels. “The Lost Tomb Of Jesus” does not challenge the fact of the Resurrection. It does, however, ask viewers to consider the possibility that it occurred from another tomb and that Jesus was married and had a son. If Jesus’ mortal remains have indeed been found, this would contradict only the idea of a physical ascension. However, it says nothing against the possibility of a spiritual one nor does it dispute the idea of the Ascension. The gospels aren't clear as to whether it is physical or spiritual ascension. As I have yet to watch the film, I cannot judge or Quotebuy shit like this Cameron is selling SMileseustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being.
