IMO this is excellent news. Although his historic ride was pretty miraculous, he always seemed like a Dudley Dooright kind of person. I'm glad the findings are working to vindicate him.

They could hold it in France, Idaho. But then the tour would be over in about 3 minutes. Perhaps they could have a Tour de France et Coeur D'Alene. That would be around 1000 miles round trip, and it still sounds super french.

Indeed, his jab at the French soccer team took everyone by surprise. There were no statements from any of the players regarding Lance prior to his comment.
He just hit were it hurts, as he's been in a feud with the French sports press for years.
The huge majority of cycling fans in France do recognize him as a great sportsman. The asshole minority, as usual, is the one making the most headlines.
I tend to be cynical about doping in the tour: everyone probably does it, so the playing field is even.
