Zipp0 1 #1 February 23, 2007 Sounds like maybe he was railroaded. If so, cycling needs to be gutted. How can anyone trust these labs any more? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17296295/ -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. NCclimber 0 #2 February 23, 2007 IMO this is excellent news. Although his historic ride was pretty miraculous, he always seemed like a Dudley Dooright kind of person. I'm glad the findings are working to vindicate him.

kelpdiver 2 #8 February 23, 2007 the phase would be 'not guilty.' We'll never know. But there are so many blemishes on the single positive result in a sea of negatives that it has to be supressed. This lab needs to be decertified as well. Between this and the debacle with the retesting of the 99 samples, they can't or won't follow technical or social protocols. NCclimber 0 #9 February 23, 2007 Is it the same lab that accused Lance of doping six years after the fact? Here's news nugget I found amusing: QuoteSunday July 16, 2006 The Observer Lance Armstrong may be in for an interesting reception next week when he returns to the Tour de France, having apparently insulted France's soccer team by saying: 'All their players tested positive... for being assholes.' rehmwa 2 #10 February 23, 2007 QuoteLance Armstrong, 'All their players tested positive... for being assholes.' If anybody has earned the right to say something like that, it's Lance. But he should have gone after the general citizens, the ones that spit at him and called him names. Did the soccor team specifically insult Lance or was he just cracking a joke in general? ... Yeah, instead of just cycling around France they should cycle around France Lets see, England, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium.... sounds like quite an adventure!Do you want to have an ideagasm? billvon 3,120 #14 February 23, 2007 >Heck they should probably hold the whole event in another country. They could hold it in France, Idaho. But then the tour would be over in about 3 minutes. Perhaps they could have a Tour de France et Coeur D'Alene. That would be around 1000 miles round trip, and it still sounds super french.

Indeed, his jab at the French soccer team took everyone by surprise. There were no statements from any of the players regarding Lance prior to his comment. He just hit were it hurts, as he's been in a feud with the French sports press for years. The huge majority of cycling fans in France do recognize him as a great sportsman. The asshole minority, as usual, is the one making the most headlines. I tend to be cynical about doping in the tour: everyone probably does it, so the playing field is even.
