DaVinci 0 #126 March 8, 2007 QuotedaVinci, I see "appeal to authority" and "ad hominem" in your post. Did I miss one? Funny. But lets ask the good Dr. and GQ a few questions shall we? GQ and Kallend: 1. Do you now, or have you ever had a job that required the use of a firearm? 2. Do you now, or have you ever received training in the use of a firearm? When was the last session? How much training do you think you have had? 3. Does your current job or any former job require you to perform functions such as arresting people? Now carmenc, you may think that I am "appealing to authority"...But one is an SF soldier trained in weapons and, when I was in, trained to act as a police officer in some situations. The other teaches physics. So if I have a physics question, I would take Kallend's answer over GQ's. But in this case I think GQ has the edge. YOU are free to get your information for any where you like. I tend to listen to those that have the training and experience. As for "ad hominem"...I am only returning fire: QuoteYou should go back to the Pelosi - "I want my jet" thread, you were doing better there- Kallend
rehmwa 2 #127 March 8, 2007 I think Kallend was also a cop once - guy's got a lot of experience. (But back then they didn't have guns, only cross bows) ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

Those damn crossbows are so difficult to holster, too.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

As for "ad hominem"...I am only returning fire: Quote This whole situation boils down to a couple of simple things, on the homeowners part: -don't be so eager to get out there with a weapon(conceal it) -identify the threat from a concealed location before appearing with a weapon -yield to the authorities when they approach you(and no this doesn't mean throwing your hands up, but if you were carrying a weapon it might not be a bad idea) and on the officers part: -make more of an effort to identify yourself -MAKE SURE YOU'RE AT THE RIGHT HOUSEHistory does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D.
