ATTN BILL: That is a personal Attack

But of course you can get aways with saying I have a lack of mental capacity, it goes along with your favorite Mods sense of fairness.

Would you like me to say things about you?

Do you consider yourself kind or understanding?

Fair? polite?

when was the last you defended the rights of others?

Your quick temper and willingness to have some one die over a blog entry is proof enough you don't have the mental capacity to own a hammer, never mind a gun.

Your quick judgement of others would leave me to belive that you enjoy sitting in judgement of others without truly knowing anything at all about them.

I bet you feel sooooooo superior.

Wasn't a quick judgement, your quick temper is displayed in multiple threads on dz.com as well as at least one PM.

I don't judge you, just happy you and your guns don't live in my neighbourhood, you seem to be lacking some self-control.

Don't feel superior at all, do think I have superior anger management skills compared to you though. :)

do semi-auto rifles have a sensible application in civilian sport hunting?

Hell yes! I mean seriously, have you SEEN the size of those prairie dogs? You better be damn well healed before you walk out into a wide open field to take one of those guys on. Also, semi-auto just gives people with poor skills and judgement the opportunity to be a better hunter. Sure, you may be taking a poor shot, but you can squeeze off three, so it evens out. If you have poor marksmanship or one too many Budweisers, throw some extra lead! GET SOME! GET SOME!

There has been a lot of stuff posted all over the web concerning JZ and his article. It would be virtually impossible for any one person to read it all, but the underlying thoughts are the same and don't need repeated here.
I myself was shocked to read the original piece by JZ. But after the initial shock wore off I realized that a good part of my anger wasn't just at what he had said, but because I had grown up reading his articles and stories. I had a respect for him the same as I did for many other outdoor writers who lived a life I envied. It's always a shock, and a disappointment, when the people you looked up to and thought of as bigger than life for so many years turn out to be human after all.

I post this not a s condemnation nor an endorsement of what JZ wrote, but to point out that there is equally upsetting aspect to this incident.

Like I mentioned earlier, the speed at which he fucked himself is amazing, but it pales in comparison to the speed in which he fucked us all.

OK, at the considerable risk of getting sucked into the vortex (I'm not a "gun debate" person, and I don't want to start now), and especially since I'd never heard of JZ before this thread, let me ask you: what do you suppose JZ's true motivation was in writing that article, and why do you think he has it? Note: please don't just insult him further; I'm asking you to take a mature, educated guess as to his thought process. (Remember, now: mature.)

It wasn't an article, it was just a blog. It wasn't anti-gun at all. It simply said he was surprised at what the guide told him about the growing popularity of using assult weapons for hunting. His opinion was that assult weapons should not be used for hunting, rather that hunters should use "sporting arms". The reaction is a pretty good indication of where people are coming from. I'm shocked they can get internet access in their bunkers.

It's provided by the Patriot Comm Satelite Constellation.

And now I know, and knowing is half the battle.
The other half is protecting my constitutional right to securing some high explosive hollow point rounds incase I'm assulted by killer liberal communist prairie dogs.
