sundevil777 102 #3 February 17, 2007 If it is possible to be befuddled, then it should be possible to be fuddled.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

lawrocket 3 #6 February 18, 2007 Quote* Can you tell the difference between believing you're right vs. hungering to be believed? More simplified, can you tell the difference between subjective belief and objective truth? What I believe or what you believe subkectively ain't nevessarily the truth. I believe that, considering my struggle from a childhood in section 8 housing to living and a learning disability to a good education, a profitable business and living in a fairly nice house that everyone in America can achieve what I have achieved. I understand that it may not be the case. You believe that in America you were treated as a second class citizen. Your subjective belief may not be objective reality, for it may be that everyone faces struggles to the same extent that you do, only different, i.e., some of us believe that a person who has had no need for a job for 13 years is by no means a second-class citizen! Or maybe your subjective belief IS the reality, We may never know for sure. Quote* Can you tell the difference between believing a fact vs. believing an opinion? Another good question is, "can you tell the difference between stating a fact and stating an opinion?" In my opinion, it is easier to believe an opinion is a fact when the person stating it staes the opinion as a fact. Which is worse? Quote* Can you tell the difference between convincing vs. befuddling? Actually, I cannot. I belief that the dynamics of human interaction are that people trying to convince each other of contrary points tend to put up a defensive wall - studies suggest that the ability to reason is shut down as the efforts at maintaining their positions lead them to defend at all costs. Trying to convince a person necessarily leads to befuddlement, because reasoining on both sides has a endency to fall by the wayside while defending the point and paying no heed to the logic or reasoning in support of the point. Quote* Can you tell the difference between having been convinced vs. having been befuddled? Depends on the timing. One may be convinced after withdrawing from the argument and thinking for a couple of hours. But it is rarely seen in human activity that a person is convinced by a person trying to convince. I convince more people by not trying to convince them. I honestly should try to do it more often. Usually, I am just befuddled. Or, I befuddle the other person. My wife is hotter than your wife.
