pirana 0 #2 February 17, 2007 Some misleading info there; not too mention unsubstantiated claims and hyperbole. There are companies of varying degrees of competence in any industry. An insurer of health care financing that acts for the good of all does not have denying claims and refusing coverage as their goal. In fact, quire the opposite. But the problem is the cost of care versus the willingness to pay. We could cover all bills, but somebody has got to pay. In the long run this issue is about how to cover all the costs. The amount all parties are willing to contribute (in total) does not cover the total cost of care. Therein lies the dilemma. Good companies keep trying to find ways to reconcile the difference. Bad companies keep trying to "win" the biggest piece of the pie for themselves. Being close to the business I can assure people of this: There is far more fraud (outright conspiracy to cheat and steal) from the provider end of the health care business than from the insurers." . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley
