SkyChimp 0 #76 November 10, 2009 I pulled this thread back up because in light of the Fort Hood shooting and the Islamic radicalism that took place, I want to thank ALL veterans for the freedom we have as a result of their sacrafice especially with Veterans Day being tomorrow. Democrat Senator Zell Miller said it best in this speech. I know this was from the RNC convention but he is correct in my opinion. Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!
Andy9o8 2 #77 November 10, 2009 Quote in light of the Fort Hood shooting and the Islamic radicalism that took place, Is this the latest falsehood that's going to keep being repeated by right-wingers and anti-Muslim bigots? The only "Muslim radicalism" that took place during the Ft. Hood shooting was in the paranoid, delusional mind of a mentally ill person acting alone. You know, RonD's "violent Muslims" thread was relegated to the Recycle Bin for a reason. Or is that lesson totally lost on you?
Lucky... 0 #78 November 10, 2009 The guy is nuts, he wrote: President Roosevelt, in his speech that summer, told America "all private plans, all private lives, have been in a sense repealed by an overriding public danger." In 1940, Wendell Wilkie was the Republican nominee. And there is no better example of someone repealing their "private plans" than this good man. He gave Roosevelt the critical support he needed for a peacetime draft, an unpopular idea at the time. And he made it clear that he would rather lose the election than make national security a partisan campaign issue. Shortly before Wilkie died, he told a friend, that if he could write his own epitaph and had to choose between "here lies a president" or "here lies one who contributed to saving freedom," he would prefer the latter. I worked on the B-1, it's a POS. I also worked the B52, its a clumbsy great acft. The B-1 isn't the 1st acft in, it comes in aft the path is cleared. It had so many problems and cost so much based upon its performance. Bang for buck it sucks, but it looks cool. The guy is nuttier than SNL portrays himself to be. SkyChimp 0 #79 November 10, 2009 No it's not Andy..... When you tell your classmates in OCS training that Islam is priority over the US Constitution and that our soldies would be served justice for the war in the middle east is radical Islam. Andy9o8 2 #80 November 10, 2009 You're missing my point, which is that he was a ticking time bomb due to mental and emotional instability, and he acted alone, not because he was (except in his own mind) a part of any kind of "movement".

I see what you are saying and I agree with you completely on that point. The only thing I would add is that because in his own mind it was done for Islam, it makes it the first terror attack since 9-11.
