freethefly 6 #1 February 9, 2007 There has been a lot of talk on who should benefit from the tax that the government collects. It is appearant that a good number of people have no real answer has to how our money should be used. On this board, a number of people seem to feel that Americans have no right to any of their money that has been taken over a good number of years. I fully believe that if you have no true need of assistance then it is stealing from all Americans to use any sort of social program. Yet, in a true time of need, social programs do help a person to get back on their feet and eventually back to contributing to society. I also believe that our elderly have a right to expect help from the country that they help build and defend in time of war. Far too many WW2 and Korean vets are being cast aside as if they but bums and not worthy of any help. This seems to be the attitude of many young people towards the old. There will come a day when many Iraq vets will be in the same shoes as the old vets. The same goes for the many young workers who will find themselves in the same shoes of the many retired elderly who have lost their pension and promised healthcare. I am asking, who should benefit from the trillions that is taken each year in taxes? Please give an honest answer and leave any anomistiy that you may have towards me out. Thank you. P.S. My answer is that the American people and the military should always benefit first."...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black."
