Recommended Posts

Climate change and Human Impact on the envirionment are two separate issues.

Thie climate is constantly changing, and has done so for 1000,000's of years.

we are fucking the place over in in a matter of hundreds of years!

Exactly.

Supposition... some scientists agree and some don't - which is the point of the thread.

cience isnt done by surveys of sicentists but by publishing peer reviewed research. That hsould be the judge of this issue not any survey like this.

Galileo's peers published that the Earth was the center of the Solar System - peer review is not necessarily equivalent to 'good science'. Peer review helps bad theories to be corrected in some cases, and can perpetuate bad *POPULAR* theories in other cases.

Do I believe human activity is responsible for *some* global warming? Absolutely. I believe the jury is still out on human activity being the *MAJOR* reason for global warming.

What are the other causes of global warming?

What are the other causes of global warming?

Well obviously, I can see how 1.5 billion farting cows would out-pollute 6.5 billion humans flying about in jet liners and SUVs. :|

So you're selling off your gear (nylon, made with polluting hydrocarbons) and quitting jumping to do your part for the environment, right?

6.5 billion humans do not fly about in jets and drive SUV's. Some do, but not all 6.5 billion.

Oh sorry, I didn't realise it was my personal responsibility to single handedly save the planet. I'll get onto that straight after I've had my superpowers installed.

At least I'm not in denial.

Natural cycles. Solar variations. If you can figure out why we're not still in the Ice Age, you'll know answer.

YOU are the one that knee-jerk asserted that it's all the fault of the humans. I merely asked what YOU were going to do about it.

I, at least, am willing to listen to both sides of the argument with an open mind. So, who's in denial about the possibility that the warming is natural?

I'm guessing less than 1% of the world's population flies in a given year..... not that this should get in the way of anyone's righteous indignation.

As long as its just a guess then I'm sure it won't.

(You may well be right, I just hate it when people say "I guess" or "I bet" and then act as if they've just demonstrated something.)
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

No I didn't, I asked what the other causes were. You jumped to the conclusion that I think it's all human caused and implied I wasn't doing enough.

Yes you stay on the fence, that way you can avoid any responsibility.

I'm done.
