Richards 0 #1 January 26, 2007 In keeping with my last thread on intolerant islamic cab drivers, here is a christian fucknut. Religious nuts! I wonder of he is one of the losers protesting at funerals http://break.com/index/homophobic_christian_rock.html My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within. sundevil777 102 #4 January 26, 2007 It looks to me to be a parody. You really think he's serious? Even if he is serious, It is not a phobia, it is hatred - important difference.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

dorbie 0 #6 January 26, 2007 It's probably real. He sings about fighting his urges and his web site talks about him being a "reformed homosexual". Here's more: http://www.lovegodsway.org/Blog/AmazingDay Definitely some comedy gold in that original video IMHO, but simultaneously tragic.

Richards 0 #9 January 26, 2007 QuoteQuoteYou think this guy is really a Christian? Possibly QuoteMore like someone who wants Christians to look bad. Maybe. Again there are freak extremists in every religion. Some "muslims" fantasize about killing infidels and getting 72 virgins, some "christians" scream about how god hates gays and even go so far as to protest at soldiers funerals. QuoteAm I the only one who doesn't see it as a GENUINE song, but one of satire? Very distinct possibility. Many others on this thread have made that comment. Whether the song itself is genuine or satire, it doesn't change the fact that the chorus is the catchphrase of a well known extremist christian group.Do you want to have an ideagasm? Andy9o8 2 #13 January 26, 2007 QuoteYou think this guy is really a Christian? The accent sounds like native English; and in any event, he sure looks Caucasian. Considering demographics, I'd guess there's about a 90-something percent chance that this guy is Christian. Or, are you using a more "narrow" definition of "Christian"? lawrocket 3 #16 January 26, 2007 QuoteYou think this guy is really a Christian? More like someone who wants Christians to look bad. Am I the only one who doesn't see it as a GENUINE song, but one of satire? I believe that the song is a parody. I have often made flippant comments about other topics in the past, i.e., "It is society's fault that [killer x] keeps faltering. If you would quit holding him down, he would be upstanding." And people actually believe that I am serious when I post things like that because plenty of people have said it and meant it. It is a fact that given the present situation and perception, there is little reason for most to doubt that people who actually believe that "God Hates Fags" would actually do a song like this. This indicates that there is a far deeper problem with the perception of the Christian movement. I do not believe for an instant that this song is indicative of what Christian belief is really about. But many out there do, and it is incumbent upon all Christians to publicly distance themselves from this line of thought. It is like the belief that lawyers are lying, money hungry scumbuckets. I must face it often and can only seek to show people that mine is really a noble profession - or, at the very least, that I am honorable. It's an uphill battle, but one for which I am prepared. My wife is hotter than your wife.

Maybe they did not see the sarcastic smirk you flashed when you typed it. QuoteIt is like the belief that lawyers are lying, money hungry scumbuckets. I must face it often and can only seek to show people that mine is really a noble profession Now I know you are joking about that But seriously, even if the singer is serious I think most people have the intelligence to realise that extremist views like that are not reflective of christianity as a whole. I really doubt that most people in our society are that willing to smear an entire group based on the actions of a few dickheads. For example no-one that I associate with beleives that islam promotes terrorism, despite the fact that we hear muslims complaining about that. Some will judge all christians/muslims based on the actions of a few, but it wouldn't hurt to give people a little more credit than to beleive that they are predisposed to stereotype based on hysteria. tbrown 26 #19 January 27, 2007 QuoteIt looks to me to be a parody. You really think he's serious? Even if he is serious, It is not a phobia, it is hatred - important difference. Not if he's one of the followers of that nut fringe group that goes around thanking God for IEDs that kill American soldiers as a punishment for America tolerating gays. Those people have been picketing funerals and harassing wounded GIs when they show up at hospitals for therapy. I could easily see them making a video like this, "God hates fags" is one of their mottos. Makes you proud of the First Amendment, don't it ? Am I the only one who doesn't see it as a GENUINE song, but one of satire? I believe that the song is a parody. If it is a parody then he's taking it to extremes with his site and followup campaign to be heard. Just follow the URL, check it out. Sorry, simply denying this doesn't cut it. It's patently ridiculous to suggest that in a land with the Phelps' running around that this is unbelievable. Quote It is a fact that given the present situation and perception, there is little reason for most to doubt that people who actually believe that "God Hates Fags" would actually do a song like this. This indicates that there is a far deeper problem with the perception of the Christian movement. There's also no doubt that many American Christians believe that sodomy is a sin and homosexuality leads to that sin. The core issue is when those beliefs affect legislation to impose a faith based moral code on everyone else. That's what drives some of the secular revulsion at the so-called revival and self-professed goal to "take back America". Just what do you think huge numbers of Christians mean when they say "Take Back America"? Secular business as usual? No doubt this is in part a backlash against some of the anti-Christian phobia, it's two sides of a self perpetuating battle. Quote I do not believe for an instant that this song is indicative of what Christian belief is really about. Each Christian gets to determine what their beliefs are, the only prerequisite is a belief in Christ as their savior. You don't get to determine his right to call himself a Christian any more than the nuts out there who'd want to exclude you from their elite Christian club. The indisputable fact is that historically this has been a mainstream Christian belief. Quote But many out there do, and it is incumbent upon all Christians to publicly distance themselves from this line of thought. All Christians who disagree with that line of thought could exercise that option. Quote It is like the belief that lawyers are lying, money hungry scumbuckets. I must face it often and can only seek to show people that mine is really a noble profession - or, at the very least, that I am honorable. It's an uphill battle, but one for which I am prepared. I'm at home nursing my back injury. Some asshole paid me in quarters. Have you any idea how much 160,000 quarters weighs? A quarter weighs 5.67 grams, so that's 907,200 grams. Since there are 453.59237 grams in a pound, that's almost exactly one ton - 2000.0336425 pounds. Being masculine, I tried to carry it in 5 loads, and threw my back out.
