The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
I found the carpetbagging to NY much more offensive. It felt as though she believed a senate seat was owed to her. (California equilivent was Kathleen Brown's campaign for governor. )
And let's not kid ourselves - lots of GOP faithful aren't keen on pushy or liberal broads, nevermind a combo deal.
The first 5-8 replies are generally, "THEY believe this..." Someone asks for an opinion and the other group puts words in their mouths.
Then, someone finally replies and the followup reply is, "Well... (insert name) did it first..." and tries to divert the discussion away from the candidates qualifications.
That seems more telling than any discussion.
The fear that qualifications may be discussed.
My basic dislike of her is that I distrust her more than any living/dead politician. Perhaps it is just the "vast right wing conspiracy" against her.
The one possible exception was "her" cookie recipe that was broadcast a week before the election. I can't say that I have tried it. Standing over that blazing stove... in that print dress... making cookies for Dearest Bill. Most successful lawyers who are married to the governor do that.

I think insecure people of both genders hate her because she has a bigger pair than most guys. Like Maggie Thatcher.
Just because someone doesn't like Hillary doesn't mean they are insecure. I admire her drive and tenacity, but I resent her implications that unless you agree with her and back her 100%....then you are scum. That attitude has prevailed in the White House since Jan.'93.
Besides, my boobies are bigger than hers.

KFC "Hillary Bucket"....2 small breasts, two big thighs, and a whole bunch of left wings.

QuoteI'll try to give an honest, non-partisan answer.
The real reason why GOPers hate Hillary is not dissimilar to why Demos hated Nixon back in his prime. Nixon was, and Hillary is, a poster child for everything the opposition hated about their respective parties, not just because of their politics, but because of their personalities.
Hillary has been a lightning rod for national criticism ever since Bill's 1992 campaign - she was a liberal, highly educated lawyer who often used her maiden name and was publicly opinionated and involved in policy. In fact, in Arkansas she was a target of the GOP for the same reason long before the '92 campaign. She's aggressive, and doesn't have a soft ladylike demeanor, so if you're conservative, and you hate the policies she likes, you're pretty likely to hate her, too. She's the absolute antithesis of what a conservative Republican considers a proper American lady to be, especially those who live in the "red state" regions of the country. The fact that she's married to Bill, whose guts were hated by the GOP since early in the '92 primary races, only adds to that.
You think politics is about friends? Bullshit. Politics is all about enemies, and for the GOP, Hillary has all the qualities of a perfect enemy. For conservatives, she's the Democrat who is easiest to hate.
I'm trying to think of who in the current or more recent GOP occupies a similar position of visceral hatred as viewed by Democrats. I guess Newt Gingrich or maybe Pat Buchanan comes to mind. Anyhow, that's my honest assessment.
That's a well thought out post, and Newt Gingrich's name sprang to my mind before I read he'd also come to your's.

Hillary wielded substantial power in the Clinton Administration. The Health Task Force was a prime example.
Hillary's main problem, though, is what I perceive as a snobbishness. Women who are ambitious and driven and educated and intelligent are incredibly alluring to me (otherwise, I wouldn't have married a woman who fits that description). Still, what Hillary is missing is the outward humility that her husband had and still has - old Bill would be mentioning how big them watermelons grow back in Arkansas.
Hillary doesn't have that. Hillary has a way about her that just cries out "Bitch." Smart, powerful, ambitious, etc. That described Leona Helmsley. No, Hillary isn't that bad, but there is the sense that she views all Americans as mere peasants who don't know what's good for them - she just can't hide it!

I would add that she suffers from DZ.com syndrome as well. Whats that you ask? (I hope you don't know cause I just made it up).
How many on here that have REALLY stong views about something discuss these topics ALL the time in the real world? I would bet not many, or at least not at the level on here.
She is a political person. So it is her JOB to walk around giving her opinion on things and trying to make things she likes happen. So she (and other political types) LIVE in a world where they are always giving their opinion. Anyone that disagrees with that opinion is going to automaticly not agree and dislike them. The more that person gives an opinion, the more the other side is going to dislike them.
For me. She never held a political office until she moved to a state where she could be elected. I dislike the idea of someone hiring a company to do polls to find out where a person has the best chance of being elected and then moving there. I cannot help but think of "carpet baggers" after the civil war. I do not think guns should be outlawed. I do not think the US should turn to socialized health care. I do not think she represents what I think and want. For those reasons I do not want her to be President.
Like her? I don't know her to like/dislike her. I do not like what she claims to want to do.
not any more. Today the Neo-Cons are far more frightening to most people than regular Conservatives are.Quoteor maybe Pat Buchanan comes to mind.

OK, Tom Delay, then. A no-brainer for Dems to hate to the core. Not just so fascist he's to the right of Mussolini, he's an A-1 complete and total stone asshole son of a bitch. Even his own family wants him to burn in hell. Now there's a man who's easy to hate.

The tipping point from my perspective was, after President Clinton entered office, and she effectively stated that the voters were getting two presidents for the price of one. Then, shortly thereafter, the "socialized healthcare" model, of her design, which was not well received by anyone. Pretty much, it was a disaster.

Yup...she cares about nothing but her personal power and priveleges. (IMO)
I still can't wrap my head around the liberal's love of all things socialist... they gripe about how fucked up the gov't is but have no problems with giving the gov't more and more and more power and control... *scratches head*

Which right wingers? Lucky? Andy9o8? LMAO
While I disagree with her leanings I think she has better leadership skills than any presidential candidate from the last two elections.
I've also noticed a number of liberals who now detest her.

Here's the irony. The man hating feminists have also given her a pass. Maybe they know that she really can't stand without her man.Quotebut Mrs. "I'm not a Tammy Wynnette - stand by your man" kind of woman gave Bill a pass for humiliating and betraying her on the national stage.

I'm certain she can stand just fine without her man. The feminists gave BC a pass because he was a democrat. Hillary wasn't on trial, just under a spotlight.
