livendive 8 #1 January 24, 2007 There have been so many times over the last 6 years that we've been able to look at our President's actions, compare them to a campaign that included being "a uniter, not a divider", and laugh (or cry) at the about face that's made Kerry look unwavering by comparison. This chart, while not totally germane to that flip-flop, still shows a divergence so acute as to be absurd. Just thought you'd all like to enjoy it with me. There is no correlation to your claim of "flip floping" and the approval rating. Any President in a war today will have a poor approval rating. Add in that the major cause seems to have been wrong (call it a lie, or bad it intel really does not matter for this discussion) and there is no way the President is going to remain popular. If Bush now said that he didn't think SH had WMD's, or that invading was stupid...THAT would be a flip or a flop.

It's just the diverging approval/disapproval rating reminded me of him saying how he was a uniter not a divider. Honestly the only way they couldn't diverge is if both were around 50%, which still wouldn't say much of anything. Saying he would be a uniter, not a divider, and then being so absurdly divisive....THAT was the flip-flop. Of course now that I think of it, I suppose the country is uniting in thinking he's a total fucktard, so maybe it wasn't. My bad, feel free to ignore this meaningless thread.
