voltage 0 #1 January 11, 2007 This has probably been here 100 times before, but I just felt sad listening to the news. It sounds like there is even more violence and bloodshed to come in Iraq with more troops going there. I have no idea what is best to do in Iraq. I tend to think that this war should not have been started in the first place, but that is just speculation and not relevant in the present. I wonder if it can work this way at all - to create peace by sending more troops, more weapons. Will this really lead to any form of sustainable peace and development? It might lead to a "power-rules" situation in the short run, but peace? Even the "power-rules" situation is questionable in an environment where - as it seems - many people there are in a mindset where they don't assign their life enough value to keep them from suicide bombing. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to bash America as a country. I believe that mostly intentions are sincere (not so sure about the gov. administration though), just wondering if it is going to do any good in the long run. Sorry just had to vent my feelings after the news in the morning Andi

voltage 0 #3 January 11, 2007 I would like to add: My post should also read as a question to spark a discussion. I am interested to know what people over the pond think of this strategy (beside politics), is it clever and why?
