Saddam Hussein action figure

So, help me out here: is this supposed to be funny or entertaining? [:/] If it is, I must be missing the point. It seems there is no respect for anything anymore, not even death!

Sadam Hussein had no respect for life, and killed hundreds of thousands of his own countrymen. So he can't expect people to have respect for him, even in his death.

I think it's a matter of principle, not a matter of what the guy did during his life. Government leaders are also killing thousands of their countrymen by sending them to war, but that doesn't give anyone the right to sell an action figure making fun of the way he/she dies... at least not in my opinion.

What if an Iraqi manufacturer came up with an action figure of a US soldier being blown up by a car bomb? Would that still be funny yet tasteless, or would it be something else?

They already do sell videos of soldiers being killed. I think that is rather tasteless.
My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Why is killing one's own countrymen considered worse than killing other people's countrymen?

If you have a complaint, it's with the blown up Uday one. But come on - this place isn't for you if you lack any sense of humor. The various Bush ones are pretty good - esp the super hero one.

So you are opposed as a matter of principle to people who produce images and products which make fun of President Bush?

A while back, there was a news story of Middle Eastern nations selling scale models of the world trade center buildings, with planes crashing into them and erupting into flames.

Some news organizations here in America purchase footage of U.S. soldiers being blown up by bombs, and splash them on national TV.

Do you oppose these things?

I don't think it is a bad thing to make fun of people who are stupid, like GWB... he brings it on to himself. When he dies (and eventually he will), I would also disagree with anyone making fun of his passing. I don't agree with making fun about the way someone dies, regardless of who they are or what they did... it seems a little bit sick. Imagine a doll representing JFK's shooting. Not nice...
