I made my statement based on the inside knowledge that the LT was trying to get assigned to units in Iraq that happened to be on their return to home orders. To me, it looked like he was trying to get to a unit who would not send him over since they would be coming home soon. When the Army said "No, train and deploy with your unit, they are going soon enough", he then took this line of attack. I know of a few who have tried to do this maneuver, 1 successfully, so far, but he is now in a Congressional Investigation for Fraud against the Government ( He got a bonus to go to Iraq).
