cumplidor 0 #1 January 2, 2007 Statements from an Israeli general on what to do with Iran- http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3346275,00.html QuotePresident Bush lacks the political power to attack Iran. As an American strike in Iran is essential for our existence, we must help him pave the way by lobbying the Democratic Party (which is conducting itself foolishly) and US newspaper editors. We need to do this in order to turn the Iranian issue to a bipartisan one and unrelated to the Iraq failure. We must turn to Hillary Clinton and other potential presidential candidates in the Democratic Party so that they publicly support immediate action by Bush against Iran. We should also approach European countries so that they support American actions in Iran, so that Bush will not be isolated in the international arena again. What bothers me is the obvious influence they flaunt over OUR government. Obviously, if you have bought into the 'War on Terror' you will be very happy that we are about to destroy another country and this fact will be minimized. But if you have an ounce of REAL Patiriotism in you (not the yellow magnet patriotism) it should piss you off that a small country of sefl rightious individuals that have elevated themselves above everyone else, and expect us to continue to keep prtecting them from their created boogymen. That's how little countries get big countries to help them out. Back in the 18th century our little group of colonies did almost the exact same thing with France to get them to come over and help fight the British. You didn't quote an entire country, you quoted some guy with an opinion. Does he have multiple personalities or something? Why are you referring to him as "they?"Owned by Remi #? rehmwa 2 #6 January 2, 2007 QuoteWhat bothers me is the obvious influence they flaunt over OUR government. How dare any group that has a political goal try to lobby potential politicians to their side... Why what if people with opinions and positions continue to try to talk to politicians to get laws and policy enabled? What the hell do they think government is for? "approaching" American and European politicians should just be outlawed completely. ... Gawain 0 #8 January 2, 2007 If military action is taken against Iran, it will most likely not involve invasion. This is my opinion only, but here is my line of thinking: 1) An invasion is not needed to disable their nuclear infrastructure. 2) The Iranian people are slowly coming to terms with the fact that the promise of their revolution 27 years ago has failed. 3) The Persian heritage of the Iranian people is a lot more cohesive in nature. There is a sense of history and pride and they will not simply "fold" under pressure. A solution? There are several. Personally, I think the Iranian government is being short-sighted with their current goals and they risk falling into another revolution if the industrial complex falls. They also run risks if they perpetrate any "real" accelerated decrepidation in Iraq (i.e. a new generation of refugees). Either way, they are not holding as many cards as some may think. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! falxori 0 #9 January 4, 2007 Quoteit should piss you off that a small country of sefl rightious individuals that have elevated themselves above everyone else, funny, i didn't see anywhere that he or anyone else said Israel is "elevated" above anyone. Quoteand expect us to continue to keep prtecting them from their created boogymen. "created boogyman" as in the one who said "Israel should be wiped off the map?", "the holocaust is a myth" and other pearls of wisdom like that? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
