If Wiccan, Pagan, and Druid categories are combined, this percentage increases to 0.15 percent, or about 3 practitioners for every 2,000 Americans. The largest religious category in America is still Christianity, with over 159 million adherents, or about 76.5 percent of the population

And yes, wicca/paganism has become much more mainstream in the last 20 years. Just as an illustration, most of the bookstores around here have more pagan books than christian ones, if you go looking through the spirituality section, even though I live in probably the most conservative and christian area of California.

You chose to start an argument by suggesting I was trolling.

Start an argument? I asked about several about several specific points. The "or are you just trolling?;)" was intended to be lighthearted.

Here we are, a day and a half later, with most of my politely asked questions, still unaddressed.

Happy Holidays. :)

actually i did answer them.. no i dont have a link as i stated i know of few 'Pagans' who care about publicising their Religion or it's Celebrations..

ofc you've already lumped any such groups into "Hippies looking for a reason to celebrate" so with that attitude i cant imagine anyone inviting you to a Yule Celebration anyway...

there are a number of ancient rituals associated with Yule that ARE practiced among various Pagan groups across the US.. but as with any religious ritual if you arent willing to provide basic respect and participation (and there are no 'observers' in most Pagan Rituals) you wont be asked to attend.

I stand corrected. Thanks for posting additional information.

Didn't come across that way.

This is the internet, not a face to face conversation - if you want to be understood you'll need to be more careful what you write.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Point taken. On a tangential point, people should respond to what others actually write and make an effort to grasp the context.

PAGAN means pre-christian,

the tri-une 'god' is the oldest 'pagan' symbol known to religion.

the cross is the oldest symbol for the 'sun' known to man

and very MERRY WINTER SOLSTICE to all!
we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively

But ofcourse there are more books on spiritualism, mysticism, astrology, because there are so many weak minded twits that need someone else to guide their life and give it some kind of meaning. I guess there was alot of poeple who coulnt find the answer to the meaning of life after several hits of acid so they will pay some other dumb bastard that writes a book on his "revelation" and his answers to who you are by when you were born. This crap gets so far fetched. I had a roommate that had a book on Native American zodiac signs. I laughed so hard. Even harder were my Peiute friends after I told them that. That gives you an idea on how much udder bullshit is sold out there.
California eh? I wish the rest of these peckerhead astrology writers would of joined that guy in Rancho Sante Fe who had his group ride the comet. Personally I wish I was there to take their wallets after their "trip".
So whether you want the answers to what your life holds 10ys later ,or you want to levitiate becuase your too lazy to walk, or make someone fall in love with you..these people have the answers..all that is required is an IQ under 40

Shouldn't organized religion be added to your list?

All in all they do help out the economy. I am into lapidary, especially opals. Eds House of Gems in Portland almost had to close business after 50 years and these new set of goons came up with the "power of crystals" That helped them though a tough time since they have many rough gems and minerals that hold "powers":S. So I do raise my glass to those booksellers and soothsayers.
