narcimund 0 #2 December 18, 2006 I'm confused. The editorial you link to doesn't say anything about public money being spent on anything at all. Well, maybe I'm not the one who's confused. First Class Citizen Twice Over

billvon 3,116 #4 December 18, 2006 Hey Marc, you seem to have found someone who hates Nancy Pelosi on a conservative canadian website! No suprise there. Not sure about the point of the post though. The celebration is being paid for by her and by the people paying for tickets. Sure, they could have contributed their $15,000 to charity instead. You could have donated $15K to charity if you so chose as well, even if you weren't invited. Doesn't make you (or those people) bad people, IMO. Hey Bill No difference as the one I remember was paid for by private funds too. NCclimber 0 #6 December 19, 2006 This sure does seem like a lot of pomp and circumstance for becoming Speaker of the House. I've never heard of galas like this for incoming House leaders. Is this a common practice?

rehmwa 2 #9 December 19, 2006 Quotewhoosh not at all, I recall the "other" party and the stink these same people made who are defending the "bug eyed senator from cali" I had the same opinion with that one as this one. I just think that pointing out the hypocrisy will send the 'usual crowd' off on the same old tangents about the definition of the word. At which point, I'd have to take a week off, open presents, sleep in late and not post here nearly as much....... ...
