happythoughts 0 #1 December 17, 2006 new clicky Now... just after the release of the Princess Di final report, someone is suing the news media for invasion of privacy. It turns out to be a tv news presenter. There has been a lot of discussion about how much of a persons life is public domain. Even the "right" of the paparazzi to hound you, literally, to death. It appears that people in the news biz don't appreciate their personal lives becoming public information, even if it could be construed as a conflict of interest. QuotePARIS, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A French news presenter whose affair with a politician has been all over French news media has threatened to sue for invasion of privacy. Marie Drucker said she would leave her job at France 3 temporarily in February, Variety reported. She is the news presenter in the late evening. A tabloid, Bon Week, ran a photo of Drucker and Minister for Overseas Territories Francois Baroin. Other newspapers and broadcasters have covered Drucker's job plans, with some naming Baroin. One, the state radio station, France-Inter, did not use Baroin's name but described him as resembling Harry Potter. Baroin, who is divorced, has also threatened legal action. In the past, the French news media have given only limited coverage to politicians' love lives. But in the past year, two other newswomen have been involved in potential conflicts of interest. happythoughts 0 #4 December 17, 2006 QuoteI know the answer... blockade the tunnel! Thats what the French do when the going gets tough! I can't believe that is true. The French have historically given unrestricted travel access into their country. I think that I will start a paparazzi website. I have a good telephoto lens. I'll take pics of their families in the backyard pool and post any topless shots of their wives. The public has a right to know.
