Hillary Clinton as President

Recommended Posts

She's the closest thing we've had to a decent president in the past 25 years. Might as well let her have her old job back. :P

Oh, c'mon. Everyone knows Hillary wore the pants when Clinton was in office. Bill had pants; he just didn't like wearing them. ;)

Damn woman, you come up with the most accurate perspective and insight.
I don't trust Hillary after finding out in her Dewer's Profile that see considers "1984" to be the most influential book in her life.

Prove to me how Hillary or anyone for that matter has the credentials to run this country in an efficient or effective manner.

I have history a history with government officials back in Colorado which make me totally disagree with the system as a whole...lobbyists, bills, and how decisions are made....all of it makes me sick to my stomach. After what I've seen first hand..makes me realize it's about $$$$$ and that my vote doesn't count.

Sure GW sucks. But it coulda been worse....Gore or Kerry could have won. Or Hillary (God forbid).

But seriously, two points to consider in any presidential race...

1: Anybody intelligent enough to actually be a good president is smart enough to stay the hell away from politics, and...
2: Why would anyone vote for someone who is so arrogant to think they are the best person out of 300 million to lead this country :P ???

How can we prove that anyone has the qualifications to run this country? The best and the brightest just don't run. So the next election will turn out just like 2004, where we have to choose between two power hungry bottom feeders who serve primarily as bad examples.

I agree with Wendy's post from a few days ago saying billvon should run (I think she made the post in jest.). He's a +3*sigma type of guy. Plus, a non career politician would be a refreshing change in the Whitehouse. I think we would have a very difficult time convincing billvon that it is a good idea, however. I can't really blame anyone for not wanting to campaign for president.

Is this really a reality? She has more support than I realized:S

Discuss.

Please put this idea out of your head.

I realize that there are a large number of people, mostly Republican, that would LOVE to see her as the nominee; mostly because she is UNELECTABLE.

She would have a great chance of winning the nomination, but I will go on record right this minute as saying that she is UNELECTABLE and therefore is the worst possible choice in my mind.

You are the result of sperm that won a race against 300 million others. Does that make you arrogant?

But Quade....look at our options:S ...pullllllllease:|

I -am- looking at the current options.

Currently I see a couple of Democrats I like that are electable, but Hillary simply isn't on the list.

Gore - no.
Vilsack - who?
Kerry - no.
Dean - no.
Hillary - no.
Obama - V.P. yes, Pres. no.
Kucinich - no.
Edwards - yes, actually. Would be very interesting with Obama as V.P.

Somebodyelse - probably.

>Gore - no.

I would have agreed six monts ago, but he's changed a _lot_ since his last run in 2000, mostly for the better. I think he'd be a serious contender. Heck, he's shown he can win on the numbers, and that was back when he seemed to be made of wood.

Just a personal opinion as to what I think is going to make the winning candidate in the next election, as we've seen over the past 6 years being far to the right isn't always the best course of action, when GW was elected I was far to the right on most issues, and looking back I think back then a lot of those on the far right made some fairly sound decisions. Nowadays I still would not consider myself a liberal, I am definitely more moderate than I was though, most of this being driven by the fact that those on the right won't listen to anyone but themselves, the reason I didn't swing all the way to the other side though(I just know someone is gonna turn this one into a gay joke:P), is beecause those on the left do the same thing, they listen to no one but themselves. Bush has turned the country off to someone on the far right, even if the next republican candidate were someone who was fairly outspoken in support of conservative views yet at the same time made an effort to understand both sides before making a sound decision he/she would stand no chance. And Kerry, good o'l mr. I'm better than everyone, especially soldiers and the lower-class, has turned the public off to those on the far left. I hear so many people saying they didn't want to vote for Bush but they did anyways just to avoid Kerry being in office. IMO Kerry based his strategy on being as far opposite GW as possible, the public showed a lack of support for Bush so it could be assumed that they would want to see just the opposite, and we all saw how that one worked out. Personally I feel that there are going to be more swing voters in this upcoming election than ever before, fewer people are going to head to the booth and just go down the line and check all the candidates in their party. Regardless of party affiliation I think the majority of Americans are going to look to someone who has their head on straight whether they lean to the left, right, or balance it all right in the middle There are people on both sides of the fence I consider to be excellent decision makers, party affiliation means little to nothing in my mind anymore, one's ability to see both sides of the argument and make a logical decision is what is going to get the support in the '08 election. Hillary, I'm sorry but she is a bit too much on the extreme side for my taste, and I will venture to say quite a few Americans feel the same way, including many registered democrats. The bad thing is that I think Hillary is tricky enough to read this and will put on a front that displays her as more of a moderate and then show her true colors after the voting booths have closed. Hopefully someone who tries to stay in the middle yet still has the ability to move one way or the other if the situation dictates will present themselves. I'm keeping my fingers-crossed anyways.

Hasn't he become more of a Jerry Brown candidate? More interesting to listen to on TV, but perhaps not someone you want to invite to dinner.

I don't see his recent movie promoting votes in the GOP electorate.

Why? You presume she sees it as a model utopia, rather than a warning about the line of going to far in having the goverment try to help people live better lives? (Something both parties need to be thinking about).

In any event, better than book than Curious George.

Hillary's value is similar to that of Ted Kennedy.

1- She is a valuable revenue collector.
2- She can sit in the background and be a lightning rod for criticism. Pulling it away from the candidate.
3- She can fling mud without being the return target, thus avoiding the label of negative-campaigner because she isn't running.

She is more valuable as a support role than a runner.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the guy and agree with a lot of what he has to say, but anyone that closely associated with the Clinton Administration is, in my opinion, just not going to be electable. Doesn't matter if they weren't even involved in any of the "scandal", it's just not gonna happen.

Some Bush impersonator was asked if he thought Hillary had a chance, he said "Oh gee, no way. If the country has learned one thing, its that it isn't a good idea to elect a relative of a former president."
