Should there be a televised Christmas excecution of Saddam?

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty surprised at the number of "yes" votes. I can't imagine its being a good idea.

It's easy to select either option and not justify it.

IMHO - execution is always wrong and public execution would be sensationally wrong.

Moreover, martyring this man would provide more ammunition and only work in the favour of the idiots on both sides!

I think the people who voted yes are joking - as was I by putting up the post. Who would really like to see a televised excecution? A few warped souls yes, but on Christmas Day?:S

Anyway, does anyone know when it's due?

Whilst on the subject, having seen old archived footage of of the after affects from his decision to use chemical weapons on the Kurdish town of Halabja in Iraq (mustard gas, sarin, taban,vx, and blood agent hydrogen cyanide) I think it's good he's getting excecuted.

'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

And I wonder where SH got this technology.;)[:/]

I think he should be "cleansed by pain" then burned to death - slowly.

I was in Iraq - for a year. He is a bastard, period.

Personally, I am looking ofrward to watching the fucker die.

I highly doubt that that many people are joking. I could see three or four, but 15 out of 40. I also honestly believe that if it there were a televised execution on Christmas day, it would get a massive number of viewers (as well as protests for that matter) and extremely high ratings. With everybody home not having much to do, I have no doubt that a large portion of the country would be watching the execution.

And that is what is seriously fucked up with our people.

SH may deserve to die, but we deserve our holidays to be free from negativity. Forget about him for a week. execute him on the 2nd.

Personally, however, I think keeping him alive and in jail would do more for the cause than executing him. It is easier for a man to be considered a martyr if he is executed than if he dies of old age while in jail.

Absolutely not. How terrible a thought.

I think a video game would be excellent.
Hide him somewhere in Iraq. Have arms caches and money pots.

You get points for finding the arms caches, it doesn't mean that you keep them. You put one of his people in charge of the door and they steal them and put them elsewhere later.

Wasn't it CNN who filmed the sniping of our soldiers by insurgents?

2 wrongs don't make a right.
I don't believe that the press should practice self-censorship. It's dangerous. CNN, Fox et al can play all the BS they want on TV, including SH's execution. Shame on people glued to the creen though. They are the ones who make programers play all the shit we complain about.
So although I will NEVER, EVER watch SH's execution, let it be broadcast and see how many billions of people watch...

Q: Are we not men?
A: We are DEVO...

PS: I voted NO...

Ok, not on Christmas, but so many of his victims will not believe he is dead unless they see it themselves (not the Pope). This will bring closure to a lot of people.

Indeed - it might be a worse punishment to imprison him for his remaining life, but being responsible for the horrific deaths of innocent women and children forfiets your right to life.

Whether this allows him to become an iconic martyr is neither here nor there.
