mnealtx 0 #26 December 11, 2006 QuoteI checked J&G's website and they have Wolf .45 ammo listed at $99 for 500 rounds. Am I missing something or was that a typo? FallRate Steel case, lacquer-coated ammo is NOT recommended... the case material has very little tolerance for chamber variations, and the varnish does NASTY things to chambers... that said, if you're willing to get your barrel SPOTLESS after every session with the Wolf ammo...go for it!! Check www.ammoman.com for some good prices... including .303 British for the other poster...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. Viking 0 #27 December 11, 2006 Ok I see alot of people are choosing the SIg. warpedskydiver 0 #28 December 11, 2006 Sigs are very accurate, have a nice trigger, last forever, and just a damned peasure to shoot, besides the fact it is a first shot weapon(no safety to contend with).
Jib 0 #29 December 11, 2006 Unless you want to compete or shoot bowling pins, 9mm or less and whatever is cheap, feels good in your hand, and easy to clean at the gun show. I'd probably look for a used Glock. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Viking 0 #30 December 11, 2006 Ya i know whatever i end up getting with have to be used b/c new is just to expensive right now. willard 0 #31 December 12, 2006 Quality, price, and the way it feels in hand. Plus a Sig points almost as nicely as a 1911. 9mm are cheaper to shoot, recoil less, and generally have a larger capacity. A .40 and, my favorite, a .45, push a bullet that weighs up to twice that of a 9mm and leaves a much larger wound channel. Being a relatively low velocity family of firearm pistol projectiles stop (kill) by blood loss (unless major damage to the central nervous system occurs). Virtually any situation a handgun may be called upon for defense will be over in seconds and more than 6-7 shot capacity would never be used. The situation most likely will also not allow a carefully aimed shot, but rather a point-pull type shot at center of mass, a situation where bigger is always better. When trying different guns, try this (with the cooperation of the rangemaster, of course). Tape a white target app. 12" square onto the target frame. Cover the gun sights with black tape. At a range of 20 to 25 feet, have the rangemaster turn off all the lights and shine a small flashlight on the target. By just pointing your firearm at the target, squeeze off 3 or 4 shots. This is a good way to find how well a particular gun points for you. Each person will find they have a certain grip angle that points best for them. But hey! I dought the rangemaster here would let me turn all the lights off. lol but i could put some gaffers tape on the sights in normal conditions to get as close to that test as i can.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
 Prev 1 2 Next Page 2 of 2 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
