BlueSkiesKel 0 #1 December 7, 2006 Today (well almost today, posting slightly early) is a day we should all take a moment and remember... This year marks the 65th anniversary of the surprise attack on the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor-Hawaii on December 7th, 1941, that initiated the United States entry into World War II. All the lives of those lost... you are in our thoughts and prayers... you are not forgotten and all those still fighting for what makes this country great... SmilingPhoenix 0 #4 December 7, 2006 OK, so is it irony or just plain weird that... My ex's first wife was Japanese. She left him. I am now divorcing him on Pearl Harbor day. Maybe he should avoid sushi.Because life is an adventure - it may not be the one you planned, but then it wouldn't be an adventure!
floridadiver81 0 #5 December 7, 2006 Sad part is not too many american realize what today is. I am current military and we are having a special meal tomorrow in rememberance of the attack. I, for one, and glad to serve my country and to protect people like the people on this board. Minus a few of the ignorant i have met some very nice people...which makes me feel good that i do the job that i do! Tonto 1 #16 December 7, 2006 Quoteand all those still fighting for what makes this country great... God Bless Firstly, I think this should be in speakers corner. The 7th of Dec 1942 was when the US was finally dragged, kicking and screaming, into the 2nd World War, which had been going for over 3 years at the time. Wars involve politics and guns, which both belong in speakers corner. As for those still fighting to make your country great, they're not fighting very well. The US had managed to finish WW2 within 3 years, but has not even managed to contain the war in Iraq in more than the same timeframe. What's up with that? And as for infamy, and surprise attacks - or pre-emptive strikes, the US is currently in a war it started with just such an action. Be careful how you judge others who use "Shock and Awe" when you do exactly the same thing. tIt's the year of the Pig.

I absolutely hate debating politics, which is why one of my rules is to never discuss politics with friends... it only causes fighting.. which I hate..i'm a peaceful personand I dont think I "judged" anyone with what I said... so little confused on that accusation was hopin more for responses such as ..oh yeah my grandfather used to tell me stories of that day..etc etc.. definitely didnt want to start the "war/no war" debate at all
 Tonto 1 #18 December 7, 2006 "I'm a peaceful person"...still fighting for what makes this country great" INFAMY = Judgement This is a world community.
