Michele 1 #1 November 26, 2006 Two sites to help you calculate your carbon footprint. Gore's An Inconvenient Truth site Carbon calculator and url http://www.bp.com/extendedsectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=9008204&contentId=7015209]BP's Carbon Footprint calculator[/url] On the Gore site, my footprint is smaller than average, at 5.45. Dunno what's average, but apparently I'm smaller than it at least there. On the BP site, my footprint is 5 tonnes. Which doesn't seem right, as the average US household uses something on the order of 18 tonnes per year. But then again, I'm just me, I turn off lights, and I drive a pretty efficient car (even though it's not hybrid). Anyway, I just thought this was interesting. What's your score? quack 0 #4 November 26, 2006 Hm. Only 1.15 according to Gore. But then he never had options for outside the US. That seems pretty good, as a Canuck, until I got to the BP site. 11.4! Still below the national average. Phew, that's something to be proud of.... But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Squeak 17 #5 November 26, 2006 2.55 acording to Gores, but that has to be very wrong 11 tonnes on the BP site, apparently the OZ avge. is 14.36, so I'm well under the Average, however I did not take into account skydivingYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! livetofall 0 #6 November 26, 2006 Retarded, just like Gore. If you hit a digit twice it wont let you backspace. Accidently hit 200,000 instead of 20,000. oh well im drunk, whats gores excuse? Whoops instead of 2 had 12 because i didnt erase 1 on the occupants before 2. Sorry, but we still havent beat the heat index of 1936. fuck you Gore, or should I say ogre, since you want to control everyone and put them into tin bucket cars while you ride in the back of a gas guzzling limo you cocksucker. Enough allready. I hold a proud 14.4.. and if it didnt rain so much here i would double that cutting lights at the track! Oh Mr. Ogre, I hope you dont mind me taking a ride up to 13k just for my selfish pleasure.........ooops, I hope everyone doesnt forget that one in their consumption numbers. Amazon 7 #11 November 26, 2006 6.8 Average... They did not have a listing for my truck.. which gets FAR better milage with a diesel than the 1500 manual 4x4 they list.. My taking trips is what really bumped it up....getting on an aiplane is pretty bad on that calculator Now fro the BP site... fixed your URL http://www.bp.com/extendedsectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=9008204&contentId=7015209 Kewl.. 11 tonnes lower than the average US Houshold at 18.
kallend 2,156 #12 November 26, 2006 I had my Intro to Engineering class run an estimate of the amount of CO2 emitted daily just by vehicles waiting at red traffic lights in the city of Chicago. The median estimate was 2,000 tons. Traffic lights are indeed the work of Satan.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Steel 0 #13 November 26, 2006 It gave me 17.6, what crap! Thats not fair. I am sure I can be up in the 20's if they took my skiboat and skydiving into account or had my 7.3 liter diesel truck with fourty inch tires listed. The most beautiful thing about diesel is that they don't test emissions on them. They "pollute" so much more than gasoline that its a pointless comparison. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. rhys 0 #16 November 27, 2006 Fuck Ogre, i wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction of another hit to his site. On the British Petrolium site i scored 13 but 7 of those points were because of my 30+ short haul flights.....(skydiving) otherwise i would score 6 tonnes per year! not too bad. we have solar power here at work through nessessety rather than choice. the electricity is unreliable in Tanzania."When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
