On the Gore site, my footprint is smaller than average, at 5.45. Dunno what's average, but apparently I'm smaller than it at least there.

On the BP site, my footprint is 5 tonnes. Which doesn't seem right, as the average US household uses something on the order of 18 tonnes per year. But then again, I'm just me, I turn off lights, and I drive a pretty efficient car (even though it's not hybrid).

Anyway, I just thought this was interesting. What's your score?

Hm. Only 1.15 according to Gore. But then he never had options for outside the US. That seems pretty good, as a Canuck, until I got to the BP site. 11.4! Still below the national average. Phew, that's something to be proud of....

11 tonnes on the BP site, apparently the OZ avge. is 14.36, so I'm well under the Average, however I did not take into account skydiving

They did not have a listing for my truck.. which gets FAR better milage with a diesel than the 1500 manual 4x4 they list..

My taking trips is what really bumped it up....getting on an aiplane is pretty bad on that calculator

It gave me 17.6, what crap!
Thats not fair. I am sure I can be up in the 20's if they took my skiboat and skydiving into account or had my 7.3 liter diesel truck with fourty inch tires listed. The most beautiful thing about diesel is that they don't test emissions on them. They "pollute" so much more than gasoline that its a pointless comparison.

Fuck Ogre, i wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction of another hit to his site.

On the British Petrolium site i scored 13 but 7 of those points were because of my 30+ short haul flights.....(skydiving)

otherwise i would score 6 tonnes per year! not too bad. we have solar power here at work through nessessety rather than choice. the electricity is unreliable in Tanzania.
