Stick around with us again. It's less personable with you gone.

No, seriously. Stick around.

You look funny when you dance. You know that.

Just finished dancing in the streets. Thought I'd drop by and say howdie! Also to suggest that anyone who is upset about the election is free to leave the country. After all, that's the offer we were made in 2004.

Peace out.

Hi there. Nice to see you in here . Unfortunately, I think The Onion is dead on. Politicians have scored a massive nationwide sweep :S. Ah well -- most people who start in politics want to do the right thing and serve the public. We have to figure out how to reward that, rather than the self-serving power-base serving stuff that's going on now.

I love you, PhillyKev! B|

Awww...I'm blushing.

How about showing your love and sending me the uncensored version of that avatar? >:(

And me too! I was severely disappointed to not see them on display this weekend! :(:P

As for PhillyKev - nice to see you're reanimated. ;)

I'm happy that there is going to be change but I am no where close to dancing in the streets since I could care less which party is going to bring it. However I am just as worried about where we will be in four years with this crew as I was in the last two elections with the GOP taking everything. These are still politicians who, for the most part, cannot be trusted to represent without corruption.

I believe this country is worse off now than it was over the last six years. We have so much ground to make up, so much to repair while also trying to focus on what was broken before that was ignored or made worse by this administration. Then there is the very real threat to our country as well. I hope they can handle the job. My confidence is low until I see them in action.

I agree completely. I've read several articles today that talked about the exit polling and the reason people voted against Republicans. A majority stated it was at least partially due to corruption and scandals. Pelosi stated several initial goals for the new House, one of which being lobbying and campaign finance reform. They got close to passing something when McCain led the charge on that, but Republican hold outs prevented that from happening. Hopefully both incumbents and new reps will see the mandate from the people for reform in those two areas and they'll actually get something done.

No matter what, though, having opposing parties in the Whitehouse and Congress is reason to rejoice. Personally, I prefer a dem in the whitehouse and a republican congress, but this is better than what we've had. Bush might actually veto something and force congress to discuss and compromise on issues instead of one party getting every item on their agenda pushed through.

As far as dancing in the streets, that was more directly related to Rumsfeld than anything else.

No. That's the promise that many Dems made (to leave) if it didn't go their way. I seem to recall something along the lines of "don't let the door hit you in ass". Unfortunately, it appears that most of the Baldwinians stuck around. I suppose it's a bit like a suicide attempt on the part of an asshole. Sure, that person gets attention, but most everyone just hopes that the next time this person will get his or her entire head in front of the shotgun. :P
