CanuckInUSA 0 #1 November 8, 2006 I do think the GOP needed a time out. But let's not forget history and let's not forget what's happening in many parts of the world. I'm sure some of you may have already seen, this. But for those who haven't, open up this url and watch the video. There is an enemy out to destroy western civilization and they will succeed if the western world is caught napping. Haven't you heard, we need more money spent on first responders in every little podunk town, aplogize, and to make sure we don't insult them anymore. Then all will be good. Maybe Jimmy Carter will go to negotiate 'peace in our times'.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

I didn't think you thought that way. You're equating the evil with a party, rather than specific individuals, note my example had one dem and one rep. I'm not feeling too oppressed yet, but I am imagining the abuses the Dems could do with all the doors opened up in the last few years by the reps (eminent domain, PA, etc). ... It would explain how all that "paint" got on his face, but why is it red? well, it is a different galaxy after all. As Obama said, now there are only bad options and worse options. For that you can thank the architects of the Iraq fiasco who led us to this situation with their hubris and then refused to come to terms with reality, all the while branding any who did not agree with them as unpatriotic. It must have come as a huge shock to Bush yesterday to realize that the majority of Americans fit his conception of "unpatriotic" As I wrote some long time ago, Bush's Iraq war will have as devastating a long term effect on US foreign policy and military morale as did Vietnam. I suspect the damage Bush has done to the GOP will also take some time to heal. Who remembers the Peter Principle?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
