I think conservatives on this forum are commenting in particular about the vitriol of the posters to this forum, not our political leaders.

However, I was amazed that Clinton got away with the line about "the politics of personal destruction". I remember what Clinton did to those that were a threat to him, including those that weren't a threat. The white house travel agency scandal is a good example of the politics of personal destruction applied to a non-threat, Hillary just wanted to get her own friends a choice bit of work, and instead of just doing it, they had to invent corruption charges. That was awful example of their arrogance that didn't even involve a pursuit of their agenda/political pursuits.
