Apparently Diebold's problems aren't limited to Maryland, Georgia or Alaska -- what a shocker.

Or Texas. It's apparently been a problem for a few days.

Funny how Diebold's "problems" always seem to work in the GOP's favor, don't you think? There are now several counties where straight Dem ballots have been registered by Diebold as straight GOP.

Not sure what brand machines they use in Jersey, but there appears to be at least one instance where the dems were favored.

Why does Diebold hate freedom?

That's a weird one. I've never heard of a button on the back of a voting machine that can be manipulated. Does't sound very effective either. It requires that a poll worker do something to every machine after every vote, and do it right in front their coworkers and voters.

And depending on how the fiasco in Va goes, dubious electronic voting schemes could turn into a massive windfall for dems. It may be impossible to conduct a recount of ballots in Va because they don't require a paper trail. All they can do is tally up the aggregate figures from the districts that used touchscreens. In contrast to Montana, where the state-mandated paper trail could have been used to recount the actual ballots in the event of a dispute (although a dispute does not appear to be possible in Montana due to the margin of victory).

Windfall as in the Dems possibly taking control of the Senate as a result of the inability to recount Va paperless touchscreen ballots.

Seems to have come back and bit them in the ass. I LOVE IT:)

Twice poetic, because now they don't have to worry about helping their opponent in order to voice support for the democratic process.

What's the split on when they'll come out in favor of verifiable voting trails now?

Do you suppose if they don't pipe up it'd mean they prefer a flawed election process to their own political office? scary indeed.
