happythoughts 0 #1 November 5, 2006 So, from an etiquette standpoint, what do you call them? Usually people are announce with the man first. Mr. and Mrs. So-and-so. Currently, it is President and Mrs. So-and-so. What if Condoleeza wins? Does the office of the President take priority? Is it President and Mr. Rice? Mr and President Rice doesn't sound right. I just want to hear Hillary Rottweiller giving her crap and CR puts the smackdown on her. jcd11235 0 #2 November 5, 2006 Would it be President and Mr. Clinton, President and former President Clinton, or just Presidents Clinton? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Once they get that law passed in Massachusetts, it will be President and Mrs. Clinton. I don't think former-President Bubba will be attending.
kbordson 8 #4 November 5, 2006 QuoteWould it be President and Mr. Clinton, President and former President Clinton, or just Presidents Clinton? It would not be any of the above! But.... I don't know if I know the "correct" answer for females with titles (never worried about it) Per the internet... QuoteWhen you address a couple, use titles, rather than professional initials. It's "Dr. and Mrs. John Smith," not "John Smith, M.D. and Mrs. Smith." If both the husband and the wife are doctors, you write, "The Doctors Smith." However, if they use different last names, you address the envelope to "Dr. John Smith and Dr. Mary Brown." The husband's name is placed first. If the wife is a doctor and the husband is not, you send your invitation to "Mr. John Smith and Dr. Mary Smith."
ExAFO 0 #5 November 5, 2006 IIRC, If one has an earned title, they come first. I remember sending invitations to "Major and Mr. Smith."Illinois needs a CCW Law. NOW.
Pubwoof 0 #6 November 5, 2006 My guess would be Madame and Mr. President. Even after presidents (senators and congressman too) leave office, it is still proper to address them as Mr. President, Senator, Mr./Madame Secretary, etc. The glass isn't always half-full OR half-empty. Sometimes, the glass is just too damn big.
