>Comparing Kerry to Bush is not.

Comparing two opponents for a recent bid for the presidency isn't appropriate?

You're right. Much better to compare Kerry to Charlton Heston. They're both about the same height.

What purpose does it do to compare Kerry to Bush? Bush beat him, and he can't run gain. Kerry can run and most likely will.

I imagine it's fun. Lots of GOPers like to compare Clinton to everyone. He sure can't run again - but that doesn't stop their constant comparisons between Bush and Clinton.

You're right they do -- I'm not sure if I have posted anything about Slick Willie, but I see your point. Okay, compare Flipper to W if it makes ya'll feel better. ;)

Comparing two past President is more relative than comparing a President to the Senator he beat in the last election. I don't see people comparing Bush and Gore very often.

How about Clinton the draft dodger?

If you feel thisw way about Clinton.. after recieving valid defferments....

how do you feel about almost all of this administration did it.. With Cheney leading the pack of cowards.. All draft dodgers too???

Or is that only reserved for democrats you dont like????

Clinton's deceptive, back-stabbing tactics used to avoid service is decidedly different from Bush, Cheney et al "working the system".

So now there are degees of cowardice? OK, so where on the continuum of coward does Cheney and Bush fall? Either way, at the end of the day, they are cowards who advocate war, Clinton is a war coward who denounces war and avoids sending others to it. Again, see the hypocrisy? Same with the guys pushing the homophobe amendment, then picking up little boys; you have ZERO wiggle room when you advocate with the sword.

Kerry didn't and Bush did..... run that is; remember Viet Nam? :P

So your opinion all who served in the reserves or National guard are cowards?

No way, I;m saying people who serve in time o war, even a BS war, who avoid going to said war via politics or whining a bad back, flat foot, etc... are cowards. This comes from me, a guy who served in a time that there wasn;t war but would have gone into it in a moments notice if called. I'm pro military service, unlike Cheney who thinks it's just for poor people.

I think the issue is that these Senators have aligned themselves with Bush via their vote all these years, yet now want to deny knowing him.

Have you noticed how few of them are using the term "Republican" in their ads? The preferred term this year is "independant". Talk about an identity crisis!

So what is Kerry running for? IIRC his term is not up until 2008.

If Bush is off limits, then so is Kerry.

$5 says he will run for Prez. Wanna bet?

I'm not the only one who believes he will run in '08
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/14/AR2006101400554.html

He might, but let's face it, he might be as high as 3rd in teh primaries behind Hillary and Obama. I could see Edwards scoring higher than him.

I can hear him flipping again: News

Why don't we all sing:

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

Everyone loves the king of VC,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
And how they laugh when he's near!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under VC

Now see there, you are behind the times. It's not flip-flopping anymore, it's Evolving Ones' Views. :D:D:D

Those were massive military assaults. Total the number of casualties and let me know the difference between that and now.

Also, you set up a no-winner, if Clinton engaged in no wars, he would be worse than not engaging in any wars/police actions. So now he's a war-monger for those puny conflicts?

The totality would yield that Clinton intentionally stayed out of wars that weren;t neccessary. The Dems of the mid 1900's engaged in all kinds of conflicts, the neo-Dems, Carter-forward do not. Whom ever we get for the next Dem pres will be expectd to avoid wars, raise taxes on the rich, pay down the Repubs massive debt, help he poor and things like that.

The next Repubs elected will be expected to cut taxes for the rich, over-spend for corporate charities like Halliburton, cut social programs and the sort.

People have figured it out, only took em 25 years. Hell, it only took 100 years to figure out how bad smoking is and enact laws to protect non-smokers, so Americans are slow, but I think we eventualy get it right once we get thru the corporate tape.

Kerry did not flip flop. The correct term for him was 'pandering'.

Bush changing war justification priorities is also not flip flopping, it's more of an 'any port in a storm' strategy.

please people, get it right :P

Too bad Kerry didn't get this advice yesterday, before his eloquent followup statement.

Oh no, you take my assertion out of context, I was talking the essence of being a Republican and now denying it.

Yea, how can teh RW be so foolish as to decry his alleged flip-flopping when the rest of teh country is following suit? It's like saying you were right, but how dare you change your mind to the correct choice once all info was in, and that's in the face of obvious cherry-picked intel.:S

>They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning . . .

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." —Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 2001

"I don't know where bin Laden is. . . I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important." —Washington, D.C., March 13, 2002

Five months! Kerry's _way_ too slow to be able to keep up with a master like Bush.

"One of the interesting things people ask me, now that we're asking questions, is, can you ever win the war on terror? Of course, you can." 4/13/04

"I don't think you can win it (the war on terror)." 8/30/04

Four and a half months! Even better.

"If we don't stop extending our troops all around the world in nation-building missions, then we're going to have a serious problem coming down the road." 10/13/00

"We will be changing the regime of Iraq, for the good of the Iraqi people." 3/6/03

That one took three years. So he's not always on his game 100%.
