Is Kerry the one who went to Vietnam, or is he the one that stayed home?

So if Nam was to the 60's what Iraq is to us today, and Kerry went to Nam...that means according to his statement...;)

That was a pretty crappy thing to say. But who are you talking about when you say "they." You talking about Kerry? Him and his cronies? Or all people who vote Democrat? Or what? I'm just not understanding the connection you're trying to make.

He failed to obtain additional deferments... not from lack of trying. ;)

I heard he got in to quite a snit when Uncle Sam turned down his request to go play in Europe for a year. [:/]

So his alleged remarks are based on personal experience. Well, can't criticize a guy for telling the truth. It would be nice if GWB would tell the truth from time to time.

Would that be the "Winter Soldier" truth, or the "I threw my medals over the White House fence" truth? :P

In Kerry's case it's the "I actually served in combat in Vietnam" truth.

And put in a request for a purple heart because I got a metal splinter.... or was the rice that got under my skin.

Contrary to popular Liberal belief... Bush never claimed to have gone to Vietnam... he only claimed to have served in the military.

Bush was proud enough to authorized his service record be released (blemishes and all)... where was Kerry's?

Uhmm, Kerry volunteered for Vietnam twice. Once on board the Gridley in the Tonkin Gulf and then on a swift boat.
Let's see now what did coke snorting drunkboy volunteer for... oh, yeah, uhmmmm to protect Texas from those evil doers in Oklahoma. Oh, he was also brave enough to volunteer the U.S. military to invade a country that posed no threat and created a far more dangerous world. Way to go. What a moron of a president(?).

Quick question: how many times can one person release "all of the records"? :P

110% of the time. B|

Depends on what the records are related to. If asked to release Military record on job performance, that would be different than Military medical records.

The right has already responded in kind, and has started blaming the US military for the war:

---------
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg said the change in tone was the result of the Bush administration trying to shift responsibility for the war onto the shoulders of the generals . . . The generals were attempting to insulate themselves from future criticism that they tried to sugarcoat events in Iraq, he said.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-28-generals-iraq_x.htm
----------

But Bush _supports_ the troops, and he listens to his generals. Really.
