McDuck 0 #26 October 27, 2006 Quote Their is nothing in this world more obnoxious or badly dressed than an American tourist I'm sorry to say that from my limited experience, this is more prevalent than some of us would like to believe. Every time I travel, I'm doing my best to blend into the background and absorb as much of the culture I'm visiting as possible, generally speaking only when absolutely necessary and at reasonable volume levels. I watched a Rotunda The Hun American woman berate an adorable Irish woman at the Book of Kells museum because the lady couldn't be bothered to remember where her hotel was or how to get back there. I was appalled. I've seen it in every country I've visited and it never fails to make me cringe. I almost want to tell them myself to shut the hell up and go back home.Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school. mr2mk1g 10 #27 October 27, 2006 I honestly first found out about this myth a few years back while watching the Simpsons of all things! It was the Lisa needs braces episode and they were looking at the "Big Book of British Smiles". I'd seriously never come across the myth till then. I read up on it and apparently the idea is absolutely unique to the US. I guess it's one of those things like some people genuinely expect all French people to wear berets and horizontally striped white/black long sleeved t-shirts.
