pirana 0 #26 October 2, 2006 QuoteI've seen how Democrats handle our problems. Bush may not be perfect but at least he isn't too busy trying to polish his own image to take care of business. I'll stay with the Republicans thanks. He not only does not polish his image, he intentionally tries to be a palooka. He puts on like a cowboy and tries very hard to distance himself from his Yankee heritage; all as a matter of political positioning. He's a master of propoganda. His efforts are more towards lining the pockets of his friends and family. The coporatacracy has owned governement since WWII, but never have they been so open and unashamed of their behavior. They take care of business alright, their own businesses that is." . . . the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging them and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley

Amazon 7 #28 October 2, 2006 QuoteYes........to Clinton I guess we were. These 19 servicemen's lives didn't mean much to him obviously. What does it take for the left to admit we are at war? How long did they plan on living in a "State of Denial?" "In another revelation, Freeh says the former president let down the American people and the families of victims of the Khobar Towers terror attack in Saudi Arabia. After promising to bring to justice those responsible for the bombing that killed 19 and injured hundreds, Freeh says Clinton refused to personally ask Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to allow the FBI to question bombing suspects the kingdom had in custody – the only way the bureau could secure the interviews, according to Freeh. Freeh writes in the book, “Bill Clinton raised the subject only to tell the crown prince that he understood the Saudis’ reluctance to cooperate and then he hit Abdullah up for a contribution to the Clinton Presidential Library.” Says Freeh, “That’s a fact that I am reporting.” Gee I guess launching Tomahawks at valid Al Queda targets was not an attempt at killing Bin Laden and friends. They were working in a PRE 9/11 world using what they had... and were allowed to use by the right wing assholes who were running their mouths on a daily basis. happythoughts 0 #34 October 2, 2006 I saw him on tv last night doing an interview. I think that news organizations have become better at ferreting out the facts that they were 30 years ago. His books are a summary of a lot of known information. He likes to publish a lot of the "smoky back room" machinations that go on in the background. He seems to be informed of a lot more of that than other journalists. He doesn't linger on the good points. He rakes a lot of muck. Clinton hated him for a while. The very first time I ever saw him on TV I knew he was a liar like no other. I thought to myself........"Nobody......and I mean Nobody with an education such as his talks like a red neck by ACCIDENT." I'll give him major props though. He was DAMN good at it. Until the whole Lewinsky thing came up. Then he was FAR too transparent. He just tried to hard with all the finger shaking and staring straight into the camera. The boy had talent though. His skills as a public speaker are the polar opposite of Bush's. QuoteHis efforts are more towards lining the pockets of his friends and family. Ummmm..............Whitewater? Clown Is Running for Mayor of Alameda Tuesday, October 3, 2006 Printable Version Email This Article (10-03) 06:34 PDT Alameda, Calif. (AP) -- A real clown is running for mayor of Alameda, and even his sister won't vote for him. Kenneth Kahn, 41, a professional joker known as "Kenny the Clown," admits he's running a long-shot campaign for City Hall's top spot. Kahn has not previously run for an elected position and has never sat on a public board. "People ask me, 'Do we really want to elect a clown for mayor of the city?'" he said. "I say, 'That's an excellent question.'" Kahn's mother, Barbara, said her son doesn't have a chance, and Sylvia Kahn, a teacher, said her brother's candidacy is a "mockery of our system." "I don't think it makes any sense, because, to me, running for mayor is not where you start as far as community involvement goes," she said. In November, the funnyman who graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, faces incumbent Beverly Johnson and City Councilman Doug deHaan. Well, at least his family is supportive What a crappy mom and sister! I bet the family is very political and Kenny and mom/sis are on opposite sides - wonder if he's a lib or con (from Berkeley) I bet a dollar the mom and sis are torpedoing him for purely politcal disagreement. Sylvia Kahn - still has her maiden name..... I bet she's ugly. Edit: libs or cons - nevermind, they are all kahns ... Butters 0 #44 October 3, 2006 I find it a sad state of affairs when people open their mouths and not their eyes History does not happen overnight. A cause in the past has an effect in the future (no matter what side was in power and what side is in power). The fact that both the left and right see what they want to see and say what they want to hear is what causes history to repeat itself. The fact that both the left and right only see the positive in themselves and the negative in the others is what causes history to repeat itself. PS: To those that label people as Nazis, please open up a history book. Your ignorance is part of the problem, not part of the solution."That looks dangerous."
