We are there because our president is a liar.

Politician=Liar..................but that doesn't have any bearing on the current case. ;)

I guess you missed the Senate Intelligence Committee report.

You are matter of factly stating that shiites only kill Sunnies, and vicecersa, how on earth do you think this apply when they bomb an open market, don't you think they target all those people regardless of affiliation?:S

I really don't know. I have no idea how much intermingling there is between Sunni and Shia but I do know that the divisions between the two are often very very deep so I don't think it's out of the question that some public areas, markets etc. are almost exclusively one or the other.

Remember now.. the rePUBICans that came to power in 2000 were SUPPOSED to be MORAL..... instead of like that liar Clinton who got blow jobs from an intern.

Looks like morality has taken another hit.. and from the guys who are SUPPOSED to be.. and were elected to be MORE MORAL.

GAWD I love massive hypocrisy in action.. I wonder how GOD feels about it.

Pity some of you "patriots" don't learn more history.

It is more of a pity that people believe everything they read in the papers.

I would venture to say going to the market to buy what you need to live on, has nothing to do with collaborating with the US, or going to school and the other targets to keep Iraq from progress. When we start to understand the terrorist and the so called freedom fighters do not care about the interest of the people or Iraq, or the country.

It is a shame that most people only hear about the deaths that go on over there. That people want to listen to polls. When polls are done they asked the questions in ways to manipulate the answer. I have had the chance to hear from the Iraqi’s and I have heard them say thank you. I have seen the building of a hospital and power plants.

As far as knowing history, what better way to understand the history books as to live the experience and then watch how the media will also butcher it up?

Are you saying we target schools and hospitals? I have watched how we deliberately avoid them. To see a terrorist deliberately attack the public. While I was over there I considered myself a valid target for those that do now want us there, I also understand the tactics. But you can see how they try to terrorize the people of Iraq. They attack the people, the Iraqi police force and those trying to reestablish the government. Is it so hard to see the difference?

Isn't that exactly what the US does with their bombs? You're not going to tell me now that your bombs discriminate between insurgents and terrorists, bad guys and good guys, civilians and military, are you?

So the killing of the innocent kiddies was just a tragic accident? How dare they be in their own country - doing nothing wrong? Why were any bombs dropped at all? - So that the monkey man and his anti-christ (too far that one... but I thought is was funny:)
Iraq was NO Threat to us - Nada - None - Bugger all - shame on all of us!

And you blindly believe everything that your government tells you... because that is your job, of course. Or do you enjoy the benefit of full disclosure from the government?

... the point being that neither him, you or me know the entire truth. You follow orders without questioning them, we read the newspaper and listen to the news. Oh, and we also study a bit of history to have a broader image of what experience has shown.

so your claim is that Warped (and his ilk)

1 - never questions orders
2 - doesn't read newspapers
3 - doesn't listen to the news
4 - doesn't understand history

why you (and your ilk) obviously do

Rather than a more respectful position that he (and his ilk) have the same information and have come to different conclusions than you have, even if they do seem very apparent to you.

It seems that "diversity" of thought is not something to be celebrated. Only cosmetic diversity is important?

This might be why all the people in Bonfire hate SC. It's a terribly condescending, arrogant stance that so many take here.

I never said that. Please read the message. The point of the message is that both of us have sources of information that are biased. The government tells their soldiers one thing, the media tells the rest of the world something else. Neither the soldier nor the civilian know the real truth behind the Iraq invasion. I am not calling him or anybody else ignorant by any means, I am saying that, save for a very small group of people (top governmental officials), all of us, military or not, are kept in the gray.

you're probably right.

I don't agree with the war in Iraq, but even I can understand (and also, refrain from pretending I don't understand) the difference between what our soldiers are doing over there and what the terrorists are doing.

In reading your message, you strayed from the topic and discussed the personality traits and 'generalized' character and intelligence of those on both sides of the discussion: You contrasted your elk with his elk stating in essense: His elk are automaton incapable of independent thought. While all your elk do research. (cartoon bubble of an Elk with reading glasses sitting at a table in a library - reading and taking notes)

You can claim this is about information sources for each side, but that's insincere unless you also credit him with his on-site experience and personal interaction with people involved in the conflict. In other words, I believe you mean it about info sources, but you sure colored it into a personal assessment about those that disagree with you.

We are all gladly left with the obvious inference as a result.

actually, that's how it came across (to me). Thanks for clarifying my point is much fewer words than I'm obviously incapable of doing.

I would like to find the whole Holy Grail text in the credits. It's funny stuff. Funny, I had just made a reference to "Spankings" in the other thread when you posted this.
