Cocaine, X, meth...what is the allure?

I got your point. Its just not a very good one, hence my post in response. The point isn't the price, its how it alters your mind.

I know what you mean. It's not the physical addiction, it's the mental issue. Eventually, some people arrive at the point of "not high, not happy". At that point, the cost drives a lot of poor decisions of all types.

Meh, the upside is that they increase their chances of removing themselves from the gene pool via overdose.

I had zero pity for the people who died from using Fentanyl-spiked heroin.

Meth--fuckers made it a huge pain in the ass to buy fucking sudafed. I hope your trailer trash ass goes up when the lab explodes.

X--you want it, you got it. When it runs out and your serotoin is bottomed out on suicide tuesday, please be sure to get your whole head in front of the shotgun. Thank you for calling!

Crack is about $20 a rock, so people steal for crack. If crack was $2 a rock, people would still be stealing for crack. The other crimes related still happen too, the stabbings, shootings, fights, etc. Price really doesn't drive much of any of that.

Amen. I have to go to the store every 15 days cause I can't even buy a months worth of claritin.

Heaven forbid my wife needs it too, then we need to hit the store every seven days.

Retarded, just as retarded as the governments response.

I know a lot of people who took cocaine recreationally in London over a period of several years and are all still perfectly fine, functioning members of society.

Note that cocaine, ecstasy, and speed are not particularly physically addictive drugs.

I don't know those people and I won't question your judgement but there is a term called functional addict.

from what I understand those drugs are veiwed differently in the U.S. than in most place. That may be part of the difference in description

I gotta agree with Bob.Dino on this one.

Sure there are functional addicts, just as there are 'functional' psychopaths...I knew plenty of people that used 'hard' drugs on an occasional basis in 'social' settings...and were likely none the worse off for it.

I think anything can be carried to an excess be it drinking, drugs, phone sex....;)

If you find yourself unable to (in YOUR eyes) function without your vise of choice...you've become addicted.

Be it addicted physically or mentally...

I know a lot of people that have just 'quit' because it wasn't 'fun' anymore, just like jumping.

If crack was $2 people would just be smoking more crack which would kill more crackaddicts and all that other stuff will go down so price does matter. Thank god I never liked crack but cracking my head open skydiving is another problem.

Sarcasm? Having worked with/around people who go way overboard with E, I can say that they were fucking delightful on tuesday, when their serotonin levels were fucked.

Fortunately, I fired one of them. The other quit. One popped positive on a drug screen, the other quit when I asked them to take one.

For the record, I documented their odd behavior prior to asking for the screen

God is the only cure.

If you're into being religious and putting up with people who try to push their belief of god onto you.

For others like me, I'm fine spiritually and have own walk with God. I'll explain it to people who ask, otherwise, I just leave it to my personal life.

For many with "god" in their lives they still fill their lives with drugs, alcohol, abuse (physical and/or emotional) over those in their lives as well as many other things, including money, other material things.

Example: Rich preachers who want a HUGE church, a nice house and a very nice car with custom made suits to wear.

However, this would be good material for another thread. Personally I think people are spiritual by nature and design; however, I don't feel like many of the religious types out there do anything but create pain and hurt for many people. Look at the suicide rate among teenagers that are from strict religious families.

Anyways, for the drug use, look at the same kids from the same families. How about them PKs? (preacher kids)

How does a person feel when doing them? What is it like coming off of them?

The internet is an awesome resource. Google cocaine, meth and ecstasy and do some reading.

As to my guess as to why...is that they are severly depressed.

I'm sure some are, but there are just as many who are not.

One example - cocaine and meth are stimulants. Stimulants are used to treat ADD/ADHD. Many people with undiagnosed ADD/ADHD have found that coke and/or meth help them focus, so they "self-medicate" with them. In many cases, once the ADD/ADHD is diagnosed and treated, the desire to use coke/meth disappears (source - the book "Driven to Distraction" and observation of a formerly meth-addicted family member).

Well, you won't need medicaid now will you. Just ask God for the food you need and he will send it on down for you. You will be saving taxpayers some money!

Here here.

Good Lord, Sarah can't say one f*ckin thing about her OPINION (which, incidentally was answering the original poster's question) w/o two of the notorious mockers joining the fray.
