Secret CIA prisons DO exist

Recommended Posts

This is news? Its only news that GW has admitted it. Its just further proof that the US Government is acting in an unlawful manner. 'Land of the free' My Arse! This just plays right into the hands of the enemies of the US and creates further justification for a Jihad in the eyes of their audiance. Which is exactly what GW Bush wants, war without end.

I'll bet you many will just blindly buy his statement that it has "saved innocent lives".

Illegal prisons, torture, Guantanamo, Geneva Convention, Bush....you put all those together and you end up with a war criminal who really is no better than what he is supposedly fighting. It is sad that people continue to blindly support him.

The part that floors me on this is once again, the double standard. What the hell are these people thinking? We are supposed to be this fantastic model for government and human rights that's worthy of being spread around the world but then we turn around render, torture, build political prisons, deny Constitutional rights to our own citizens, export cluster bombs for use against civilians...the list is long with this bunch. And somehow these liars can look you straight in the eye and tell you that they're making us safer. One thing that I've noticed with this administration, and Congressional leadership for that matter, if they tell you one thing, it's usually the opposite.

The thing I can't figure out is whether it's ignorance or dishonesty that leads people to put all the blame for the state of affairs on the Bush administration. As if voting in some power hungry democrat is gonna make a lick of difference. I almost want liberals to win so that they can see the world of shit they'll make for themselves... then I realize I want to live here too and I'd rather have to put up with the bitching and moaning than the idiocracy that'd be in place.
Oh, hello again!

Actually no. But I am dealing with people in this forum that mostly have NO idea what they are talking about. Not that this condition has ever stopped any liberals before. :D Have you ever been interrogated by a professional? Have you ever been trained in interrogation techniques?

Uhmm, not quite sure what that would have to do with wether torture is a viable alternative to interrogation and if the information garnered is actually valuable....

There are a couple of thousand dead American soldiers and innocent Iraqi's who would say that torture did not lead to valuable information....Plus, Colin made a bit of a fool of himself because of it too....

Here's what I am getting at. Define "torture." Yeah.........not so easy is it? I would love to discuss this more...........but I am not going to over the internet. Catch me over a beer sometime and I will explain it to you. OK.........gotta get out of here. :S

You seem to suffer from the misconception that anyone that disagrees with the war in Iraq or Afghanistan is a liberal whos never seen service. SUPRISE!!! You are not the only one whos ever served in a war zone or been in Afgahanistan or Iraq. Its just that some people use their brain and can think about what a disasterous situation your President has led your country and the world into.

The war in Iraq was ill conceived, justified by lies, incompetently executed at the highest level, has not achieved any worthwhile goal for the US or the people of the region, has destabilized the region, has increased the number of terrorists, killed over 2600 American boys, maimed 19,000 others, will cost over $1 trillion in the end, alienated us from our traditional allies, made our intelligence agencies look foolish, ruined our reputation as a fair and honest nation that follows international law, and will haunt the US for decades.

Other than that, it's a great success.

Yep, I know that some reading that will just think I'm being a troll but I'm not. Even after the Somali debacle Americas millitary still was feared by a large amount of the world. The question was more 'will the Americans ever be willing to use it in a war that isn't just a small invasion like Panama?' Now the world has been shown time and time again that America can be defeated by a determined enemy, and they are lining up to take a pop. For every one thats killed two fight over who will pick up his weapon. That is something that has damaged the safety of Americans everywhere, including at home.

No..........it's because I see the world for what it is. A dangerous place. America and specifically Bush had not a damn thing to do with making it that way. I think Clinton didn't nip it like he should have. He let it fester and even emboldened our enemies. If people like me and Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Seamen, and I think even the Coasties weren't shooting terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, Asia, and lord knows where else............people like guys in my last job would have to shoot more of them on the streets of western nations everywhere. Iraq and Afghanistan has allowed us to bring the war to them so they aren't killing my kid in his school like the Beslan incident. :|

This is the classic "you just don't understand" argument. Totally pathetic.

No, it's not totally pathetic, and the fact is that you honestly *don't* understand what he is saying.

Maybe I've got my head in a bucket of sand but I cann't see how the world has suddenly become more dangerous... It's always been that way..

There have always been wars (Waterloo......WW1 & 2 we're not Police Actions, they were proper fistycuffs), The IRA, Bardermeinhoff, Red brigade, Tamils etc... etc... we're not boy scouts.

Nothing has changed , except maybe, some peoples preception or [cough] some people making political capital (and dont forget.....loooots of money!!!) out of an already existing situation .
