grue 1 #1 August 27, 2006 This guy might be prejudiced, could be a moron, and very possibly may just be bad for New Orleans, but what exactly is so wrong about what he said regarding the WTC site in relation to New Orleans? "On a tour of the decimated Ninth Ward, Nagin tells Pitts the city has removed most of the debris from public property and it’s mainly private land that’s still affected – areas that can’t be cleaned without the owners' permission. But when Pitts points to flood-damaged cars in the street and a house washed partially into the street, the mayor shoots back. "That’s alright. You guys in New York can’t get a hole in the ground fixed and it’s five years later. So let’s be fair."" He's got one hell of a valid point there.cavete terrae. matthewcline 0 #5 August 27, 2006 But hasn't a lot of "they" not gone back becuase "they" have found some thing better else where? My wife works with several folks who came to Nashville after Katrina, and they have had nothing good to say about Nagin and the work he has/hasn't done.An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I'm pretty sure that by putting a government body in charge of that, it'll be done so poorly that it will turn out to have been more financially efficient to just fill it in.cavete terrae. Gawain 0 #7 August 27, 2006 Ray Nagin...the chocolate city man. New York City, with a crime index, one fifth that of New Orleans, a city with 1/16th the population. Unfortunately, he will continue to grasp at anything that diverts the attention of an inefficient clean-up away from his [lack of] leadership. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! A lot of "they" have found out that they can collect gov. benefits elsewhere. Many of them will never actually take advantage of a new start, and improve their lives. TheAnvil 0 #9 August 27, 2006 Hmm...let's see...for one, it shows that Nagin doesn't grasp what's gone on in NYC at the WTC sight and has no clue about the matter. But then again what would one expect from a racially prejudiced bigot such as Nagin? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! tbrown 26 #10 August 28, 2006 Nagin's also made some idiotic remarks about the large number of Mexican workers who have come to New Orleans since Katrina. Something like he didn't want New Orlenas "turning into a brown skinned Spanish speaking town". Guess it goes to show that politicians of any race or gender can be just as useless and stupid as the old fashioned good old white boys. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
