Rethinking the Neo-Con strategy re. Iran.

If you accept the premise of his comments then it might make sense.

But one statement he makes about force being great but it does not have to be used ignores the premise that force is worth nothing if you know your enemy has no convictions or the guts to use it

Any country or individuals contemplating a nuclear attack on the US will also know for certain what the response will be.

There won't be any political debate and there won't be any whining that we need to consider why they did it.

There will be a disproportionate attack that will simply annihilate all life in that region and those surrounding it will suffer as well.

If it were individuals then where would you nuke? Especially as there would be a fair chance that should the US have a nuke detonated on its soil (Or even a dirty bomb) its quite possible/likely that the perpitrator would be an American.

would be a togher prospect but the evidence would lead back to a country in the end.

Don't wanna get annihilated?, don't sell your fissable material, or weapons.

I am not saying it is right or wrong I am saying that IS what WILL HAPPEN.

This scenario has been gamed many times with the same outcome, a huge area of the planet becomes DEAD.

I think that horse has already bolted.

Are you aware that the US can't account for* 2.7 TONS of plutonium from its inventory? Russia is far worse.

* note - this doesn't mean it's been stolen. It means that there's an inventory discrepancy that can't be explained, so it could have been stolen, could be a bookkeeping error, could be "lost" in the system...
