that's the problem - I can't take USA Today seriously - anything they report is what is given to them by the Administration. If I don't trust them in the first place, I can't trust this very much. It's just enough information to fill in gaps, but not to be examined.
Happening in England doesn't help, even though it would make sense for such a plot to target the US and UK. Blair is taking even more of a beating over Iraq than Bush is, so certainly this kind of event helps him.
I tend to believe there is some substance here, but I suspect some embellishing was done, just as was done with Iraq to sell the war to the public.

2. Create fear and panic in the dumbed-down populace
3. Offer the solution (Freedom for so-called Security)
U.S. citizens have lost many freedoms since the commencement of this fictitious 'war on terrorism'. George Bush has said that he doesn't know or care where Osama bin Laden is. Life is getting harder for average folks and it's not because of some boogey-man 'terrorist', it's because the Government is clamping down hard. Hello?

So we can't take on hand luggage - here's an opportunity for capitalism to provide travelling kits at destinations providing all the little things in carry-on laggage.
We could take traveling light to its logical conclusion which is carry NO luggage at all.
If we could easily get everything we want at the destination , pre-ordered or otherwise , then it's almost problem solved.
