Her last book "Godless" was a very good read" and I have plans on having her sign it when the oppertunity comes and add it to my collection.

I believe she comes accross as alittle rough, and sometimes does not appear to have a Christ Like attitude when it comes to the John Murtha's, ACLU hacks of the world.

Again, I have no idea if she's a good or a bad person. She uses hate to make money; lots of people do, and she's very good at it.

And we're all worse off for her efforts. The problem is that too many people think that her "product" has value outside of a sad form of entertainment. They think that she offers ideas that should be included in public debate. The fact that she's repeatedly given a forum shows just how much the mainstream news media is more interested in making money than in actually providing a valuable information service.

I'd say too many people take Robin Williams seriously. I'd say too many people took Johnny Carson seriously. I suspect too many people took Howdy Doody seriously. Too many people take lots of 'entertainers' too seriously.

There will always be those that take the words of entertainers seriously. She offers up entertainment only. Knowing her views are 'design' for shock value, I take her views less seriously than I would just talking to someone at the airport - at least the random citizen is likely a little bit sincere. I can't automatically credit sincerity to someone who does it for a living.

Too bad for those that take her points to heart. They are cancelled out by those that take the same entertainers seriously but with the opposing viewpoint - as you are doing. Thanks for helping keep the balance.

Edit: the best way to shut down an entertainer is not to publicly disagree and write cartoons. The best way is to ignore completely them into the background - NO publicity is the only way away from them. Ignore them, and they'll change jobs.

The problem as I see it is that she's an entertainer but she's put on news shows, not "entertainment tonight" or the new hit gameshow "what's in YOUR colon today?"
The same people out there who thought/think that Iraq had WMD's, which is way too many, are the ones that are going to mistake her art form for valid discourse.
And I agree, ignore her and she'll go away. I know I'm feeding the beast as I type but I'm going on the assumption that SC isn't required reading. Too bad. Next to the Daily Show this is without a doubt the best source of news on the planet!

It's becoming a depressing pattern. Rush rails against what losers drug addicts are - then turns out to be one himself. Ann castigates democrats for not knowing how to vote in Florida, and lo and behold, turns out she either can't figure out the process or is trying to vote fraudulently. Foley champions protection of children from internet predators, and then turns out to be what he's been (supposedly) fighting against. Barbara Streisand claims to be a staunch environmentalist and drives to enviromental rallies in an RV (not even an SUV!)

With the exception of Albright, Reno and Helen Thomas, yes point taken that the photographer does have a lot of flexiblity to capture the picture they are looking for. But I still stand by my original comments that those women in this "Democratic Party" photo collage are just down right scary looking.

Can someone show us GWB's monkey comparison pictures just so that we know we're not playing favorites here and instead are making fun of politicians from both sides?
