Following Hamas victory in Palestinian government elections, it was "Orders from Damascus" which led to Hamas' stated position on Israel. 2. (& correct me if I'm not wholly correct on this) Until recently, Lebanon was occupied by Syria (troops and government "advisors") adn was effectively governed as a Syrian colony. Syria certainly took their time acceding to Lebanese requests to "Go Home" and Lebanon's own internal security was virtually non-existent because of Syria's presence. It runs in my mind that it's only some 6 months since Syria actually withdrew from Lebanon... And then this! Internal trouble which Lebanon can't cope with. Plus... The Katyushas's that Hezb'Allah are using didn't appear in Lebanon by Star-Trek Transporter. They had to drive there. From Syria? Where else could they have arrived from? Perhaps Dubbie's overheard comment that "Syria's got to stop doing this shit" is in fact a great deal more insightful & better informed than the world gave him credit for. Mike. I'm not sure if I should actually congratulate the current Israeli leadership for achieving that!!? 2. I can assure you that here we feel that we were forced into a war we do not want. what makes me even more sad is that it reduces the chances of pulling out of the west bank soon (it seems that where ever israel pulls out, it is attacked) 2) funny, looking at the forums lately, i don't feel the same.
