Not All Corps are Bad!

Utterly hilarious, but the hilarity is declining. This one doesn't even top the time you were crowing about budget deficits being bad and then slamming GWB for wanting to cut programs that were ineffective.

:D

Suppose they can say anything about the GAO report of Aprils revenues being the highest in the history of the US? (250B) No. Deficet projections cut by 100B!

Spending is still crazy but the biggest tax reciepts came from CORPORATIONS (an increase of 34% if I remember right) and the rich. (17%)

How the hell can that happen with the Bush tax cuts in place and the evil cororations shirking thier duty and all the cuts favoring corps and rich people???

Dam I am confused......

Wow, that's fantastic. The deficit projected to be ONLY $296Bn. Let's see, is that less than any previous administration's deficit? Well, no. The only one coming close was also under a president named Bush.

To some of your points I agree but you always have to spin don't you.

The fact the corps and the rich are paying more after the cuts is not a fact you want to touch. Nor is the fact that (once again) after the tax cuts all time record revenues are coming into the treasuery.

I already said they are spending like drunken liberals and when that happens no matter how much money is coming in you can't cover the out flow.

So, points taken, spin ignored.

The economy is boming due to tax cuts (FOR THE THIRD TIME) despite the war, Katrina and 911........... and that is a fact.

Getting better workers IS the responsibility of management. Running the corporation includes managing the workforce, and is what management is paid the big bucks for.

But what happens when the corp starts to rob the workers retiement fund to pad there own pockets? Not all do that but in recent history some have.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Different topic but a good one. I find that dispicable. Working for a company and part of your compensation is a retirement program so that should stay regardless of debit. Would seem to be a simple law?

I disagree. The economy is apparently booming because the government is pumping money it really doesn't have into the economy, but it is spending it anyway.

In any TRUE accounting scheme you don't just count the income and ignore expenditures and borrowing. We are borrowing from Japan, China and the EU countries to the tune of some $500+Bn each year. We have lots of stuff, but we have enormous and ever increasing debts too. Our economy would be in total collapse if our debts were called. The Bush boom is smoke and mirrors.

>The economy is boming due to tax cuts . . .

You're sticking to the correct formula; bravo!

1) GOP response when a democrat is in office and the economy is doing well: "You must be an idiot to think the president controls the economy."

2) GOP response when a democrat is in office and the economy is doing poorly: "Our tax and spend president is destroying the economy with his new taxes."

3) GOP response when a republican is in office and the economy is doing poorly: "You must be an idiot to think the president controls the economy."

4) GOP response when a republican is in office and the economy is doing well: "The economy is boming due to the president's tax cuts."

When the economy turns down again (which it will, as surely as politicians lie) remember to change your story to 3. Or perhaps there will be a democrat in power at that time, in which case you can use line 2.

It did not turn down last time until Clinton raised taxes but I am sure you have forgotten

Dealing with unions is part of management, 'tis true, but unions themselves can be - and are in the case of Delta and GM - a large part of the reasons those companies are in dire straights. Not admitting that is simply not facing reality.

Striking is refusing to do your job. Period. Refusing to do a job for a reason is still refusing to do your job.

Very true -- but your comments are meaningless unless you acknowledge the differences between "striking" and "refusing to do your job".

You stepped into his trap by specifically mentioning "Clinton's" tax increases. You could have mentioned both Clinton's and Bush Sr's tax increases and made the point without stepping in it. Even better, don't mention either guy.

The "tax cuts" helped the economy, avoiding attributing it to any particular party or president and his little 4 point mantra becomes just partisan whining. Tax cuts for everyone under either party or any president will help the economy.

Instead you went and said the "C" word allowing the rabid responses which will be full of the "G" word.

Now watch this thread degenerate until finally someone mentions that the US gave WMDs to Saddam (yet he isn't supposed to have any).

6 years into Clinton's presidency we had a $69B SURPLUS. 6 years into Bush's presidency we have a projected DEFICIT of $296B, and they are projecting it increasing again to $339B next year (after the election!).

Bush's accumulated red ink amounts to somewhere around $1.4T to this point.

Raising revenues doesn't help one iota if you raise expenditures even more in order to do it.

Good point on what tax increases!! Whom ever impliments them begins the path toward a declining economy.

Ahh, logic.

I agree, cut spending in addition to tax cuts.

Edit: Well, GWB's eyes are too close together. And, no one is denying Saddam had WMD's, after all we gave them to him at one point. (Just thought I'd finish my original point that you so graciously participated in - :D).

THink that if you like.

You can refuse to do your job if you think it is unsafe. Do you think taht is the same as refusing to do your job because you are striking, or the sqme as just not showing up and refusing to do your job that way?

All three are very different. Yes you can label them all together in refusing to do your job and call them the same. That would be just as stupid as labeling soldiers in Iraq with murderers in the US cause both are killing people.
