Really? So who is the AVERAGE listener? Evidently, they have no job, as Rush is on from 12-3 pm. Either that, or they have a job working in a warehouse or driving a taxi - where they can play the radio. Oh, and I know the local barber shop plays Rush, so the barbers are in the demographic.
OK, so that's not the average Rush listener..... Anyway, there are hoardes of misinformed people who follow him without question. Those are the ones that concern me. He is full of shit much of the time, but represents it as fact, and many, many people buy into it.

I listened to him for YEARS - 8-10 or so. I read his books. I have "The Way Things Ought to Be" and "See, I Told You So" on my bookshelf. If you don't believe me, I'll take a photo of myself holding the books and post it.
I still listen 1-2 times a week over my lunch break. I didn't listen today, but I know he had a guest host a few days ago...

Was this true about you when you were a Rush listener for 8 to 10 years? Were you unemployed? Did you drive a cab, cut hair, or work in a warehouse?

there's certainly some sort of karma biting him on the ass, but I don't rate him as a junkie for developing a pain killer addiction and buying viagra on the grey market. That get does rate the same response as a crack whore.
Right now doctors are giving me pain killers like candy, some of them saying outrageous BS like vicodin is non addictive. I'm extremely pain tolerant, but with a broken shoulder I'm happy to take them, yet I'll be far happier when I can start dropping the dosage rate.
I have a hard time criticizing anyone that gets addicted to these meds because for 99%, it wasn't a voluntary choice to start taking them. It was a medical necessity.

I think they were referring to the multiple oxycontin prescriptions from various doctors. And someone on probation for prescription drug offenses should know better than to have mislabeled drugs on their person.

Nah. I worked for a PBS affiliate. I believe the salary they paid me qualified me as unemployed.
And yes, I kept my Rush habit to myself.
