I vote your question is invalid.
The US and its allies have won allready.
The 'liberation' was tactical, primarily in the pursuit of oil, the $$$$billions$$$ awarded to preferential bidders for the 'rebuilding' of Iraq probably came in handy too.
Sorry to say there's been plenty blood spilled, be it US, UK, Irqai or A.N Other to acheive this goal.
And thats the truth.
Shame.

I disagree. If it was really about the oil, we'd own it. So, clearly, it's not about that.

Yeah... I'm going to vote for "The Ordinary Iraqi" to win more peace and less fear.

Incidentally, the UK troops are staying to see if they can score any more kit the American Troops abandon!
Listening to a US General tonight - he says that the one equipment thing the Americans REALLY envy about the Brits is their ability to produce copious quantities of hot water on demand!
Of course, ALL our vehicles have water heaters. How else could we brew-up for a cup of tea?

Ice.
Ice is good.
I ask my wife for ice in my drink and she puts 2 pieces in the glass. It's taken years, but I'm getting used to it.

Two cubes?

Surely ice cubes would make the nice hot cup of tea go cold far too fast!
It's waste! All the second cube does is clink against the first one. IF you REALLY need such a sound when drinking, then get an irritating child with a toy xylophone.

True, although the Japanese have just pulled out.
They just announced their pending pull out today. PM Koizumi is stepping down in September, and this move coincides with Britain and Australia's announcement that they were handing over security to Iraqi forces in the Muthana province, where the Japanese 600 NON-combat troops were based. They'll be home by the end of July (ahead of their December "deadline").
ROK was a defined mandate, no new news there.
Also note that there are NATO forces in Iraq that are not being counted as a "coalition" total.
The US and UK were the first in and will be the last out.

QuoteI would like to have the US win the war in Iraq, turn it over to the legitimate elected Iraqi government and then bill them for the entire cost of the war.
Why bill them for a war they didn't start?

Why not?
So far we've killed a few tens of thousands of civilians, and a somewhat smaller number of insurgents/Hussein loyalists. That comes to about $10,000 a kill. Heck, the Chinese government sends the families of the people it executes a bill for the bullet; maybe we can get away with something similar. (Of course the Chinese are somewhat more economical than we are.)

The Germans. Everyone should let them win...its been a while since they've been able to win a major war.

I'd like to see the Iraqi people win.
i.e. The US gets a democratic government going and then pulls out. Then the Iraqis can start killing each other instead of US soldiers.

I see 2 people so far voted for the Insurgents, but yet failed to explain why.
I guess some people say shit without having any clue as to why they think that way.
Any guesses as to who the two were?
I have an Idea who one was.

what billvon said: The Iraqis.
I can't visualize realistically what an American "win" would be. It's not as though all the insurgents are going to step forward as one & sign a treaty of surrender
& stop fighting.
I'd like to see a phased withdrawal of American & British troops as numbers of trained Iraqi soldiers increase & take on a more front-line role in stopping the terrorists.
The fighting will continue, but hopefully die down & the Iraqi government will have enough of an upper hand to keep down the terrorists to a point where the Iraqi people begin to have a little faith in their own government & the terrorists lose any support from the bulk of the Iraqi people.
(when it becomes clear that the US &UK are in the process of ending their occupation anyway, can anyone give credence to the idea that the insurgents are fighting to end the occupation?)

Uh, so why doesn't that also apply to 'USA' winning votes?
Have you noticed how nobody appears to think of it as a coalition anymore? Still a lot of non US troops in theatre.
