Edradour is the best. Trust me on this one. I've done years & years of intensive research on this very subject.Smile

What is it? A highland?

My all time favorite is Talisker 8 year old (_not_ the 10 year).

It's a small distillery just outside Pitlochry. There's an appropriate clicky in my original post with a phone number if you want to order a bottle or find your nearest stockist.

They only sell around 12 cases of malt a week. The rest is contracted for supply to the English Parliament (and if that bunch of snout-in-the-trough gits want it then it must be good)!

In Chinese, France is "The land of order"!!!:o:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

Yeah... The "Order" being "retraite et reddite!" (retreat & surrender). rather than "lavage et soit poli."

Mike.

Edited to add: Actually, that's not strictly true. I've found that The French have become more polite lately, but that may be just to me since I started working on my German accent.

I can't get real excited about whisky I can not even get, so I will just take your word that it is great with no intentions of ever having it.
What you take on Glenfarclas? I had some recently(25) and thought it was delicious, but I would not normal spend the $$ for it.
That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

Speaking of France... Why do they call it "La France", meaning "The France"? Is this to differentiate it from some other France? Maybe some No-surrender, Hygenic, Brave, Polite, Turn-up-for-a-battle-on-time, France?

Perhaps, they call themselves "La Grande Nation"??

I didn't see that as an insult, but rather as ....

2nd guessing a moderator is about as productive as arguing over the internet. You wouldn't do the one, so why the other?

I'm just offering an opinion. That's what we're all here for. He doesn't have to abide by my opinion.

I spent two years in Edinburgh. It's where I met my wife, with whom I have 3 children today. Really great people. Absolutely LOVE single malt.

Beautiful place. Spent a school year in Northumberland, and a couple weeks of that hitching around Scotland.

One of the benefits of it is when I'm debating someone about Nessie and they get uppity and say "Have YOU ever been there?" And I get to say "Yes, and the whiskey is great and the people are awesome and they are the first to tell you that the whole Nessie thing is kept afloat for the sake of tourism."

I didn't see that as an insult, but rather as a description of the content of the messages, which can bounce from one end of the spectrum to the other in short order.

It was all in the wording, but I wasn't going to argue with the Boss.
I did mean that the messages go from one side of the board to the other.

I actually think that it is a trait of intellectualism. They want to keep everyone guessing.

I'm pissed off. Just because I'm not American and I dislike many (But not all) of the current administrations foriegn policies. Because I don't belive that anyone regardless of thier motives or history should be able to walk down my road with a concealed gun and because I have always belived that the war in Iraq is illegal and wrong someone belives that I am an 'American hater'. I find this personaly offensive and a personal attack.

It's not just for the fact that you're not American. Americans who disagree with the invasion are also called "America haters" by some people. Some of them even say that the people who predicted this quagmire are partially responsible for it. Kinda like blaming the weatherman when it rains.
But many of them seem to believe that we WANT things to go badly in Iraq, just to prove that we were right!!:S
THIS is bullshit!! I WANT to be proven wrong!

Do you want to "stay the course" on the Bush strategy to allow it to play out and see if you are proven wrong, or do you want an immediate pull-out of all troops?

Hell no. 2500 US soldiers dead, and tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis dead. We need a better solution. It's been three years. We should stop wasting american lives on a solution that has failed.

I don't believe that sitting around, singing Kumbaya, is going to get the job done.
At the end of the day, unless you personally convert to Islam, you are an infidel and deserve killing.
There's only one way to deal with that mentality.
It has to be completely crushed.
There are reasonable Muslims, but they seem to stay intimidated by the radicals, even though they outnumber the radicals.
Until they are in a position to gain an upper hand, which is what we are doing, there will be no change.
What other way do you propose, to stop these bloodthirsty nutcases, than military strength?

I seem to remember pledges that we would rebuild Iraq after we won the war, rebuild hospitals, schools, the police force, their administration, their roads ... in fact the whole country was meant to be rebuilt and shown the way forward....... If I remember right Bush and Blair promised that didn't they? If so we should stick it out and do the job properly which means more troops if they are needed, more cash injection and expertise sent out there.
