GQ_jumper 4 #51 June 9, 2006 now that i think about it a little bit more i remembered that when i was trying to get my passport it took me twice as long because they couldnt' take the original copy of my birth certificate. the one i've had since the day i was born is no longer valid because so many immagrants have forged california birth certificates that they had to change the type of paper they are printed on. so i had to pay to get a new copy so i could get my passport, which if i hadn't gotten it in time would have kept me from travelling to iraq the first time i went over there since i went through germany on a commercial flightHistory does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. skydyvr 0 #52 June 9, 2006 QuoteWell, if your reading skills are up to snuff you would read the original question in post #1 of the thread correctly and not need my emphasis to comprehend it Oh, I'm up on the thread and could even relate a personal story on the topic. However, I agree with a previous assertion that the premise is silly (me only stories), and was amazed to see BV defend the premise as "interesting". What value is there in this? Most of us skydiver types probably don't compete for minimum wage jobs. Useless data. Some good stories though. . . =(_8^(1)

Not all of them are minimum wage jobs. Aircraft depot maintnance base, construction workers, home builders. Those are not minimum wage jobs. But the illegals have dragged down the pay scale for those types of jobs. When I first got out of the Army I was doing contract work for AT&T doing fiber optic work. Laying the lines, hangin line and stuff like that. I made about $60,000 that year. Pretty damn good for only working 9 months. The next year we showed up after the snow melted and was informed we would be taking a $30,000 to $35,000 a year paycut. Almost everybody walked out to our surprise our replacements were already there. I give you 1 guess who our replacements were.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
