Should America adopt a more isolationist foreign policy?

Suppose we finish the shit in Iraq by at least getting the Iraqi army & police up to speed & then get out.

We have troops in over a hundred foreign countries right now. Why not bring most of them home.

What if we adopted a "don't fuck with us, & we won't fuck with you" foreign policy.

It would eliminate the motivation to launch terrorists attacks against the USA, since no-one could complain about our troops occupying their country. And if anyone did fuck with us, we could focus our strength on kicking their asses specifically. So such a policy would remove both the MOTIVE for attacks against us, and also improve the MEANS for dealing with them.

This Team America World Police neocon policy is bullshit.

I got to admit i kinda agree with you. I think the USA should be more isonationalist like it used to be. I mean its a pretty self sufficient country anyway. Also i think the rest of the world should see what its like, when America isnt figting to help other people or giving billions of dollars in aid to third world countries. I mean for all the criticisms people have of America it does do alot to help other people which it could easily not do and just spend money making itself even richer.

I wasn't talking about closing down foreign commercial operations. The founding fathers absolutely favored foreign commerce & trade, but wanted to avoid foreign political entanglements.

But they can alwyas attack you in some form. either trade wise, i mean we all rely on international trade.... or other ways....

If you dont need al arge standing army (why would you, if you pull most of them back?)... then it will be more difficult to assemble one , when/if you need one.... for when people start to fuck with you.
