JohnRich 4 #1 June 1, 2006 News: Kansas follows the leader on concealed carry law Entering the 2006 legislative session, only four states didn't have some sort of conceal-and-carry gun law. Following an initial approved vote, and an override of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius's veto, now there are three. The bill will go into effect July 1, with four-year gun permits available from local sheriff's departments starting in January 2006. It has been estimated that 20,000 permits will be issued by the state in the first year, with the tally reaching 48,000 after four years. "Frankly it was past time," said Sen. Jim Barone. "When one takes emotion out of the issue and looks at facts, including ones from the states who did this before, you will see that this has a positive impact on society and violent crimes against people actually do decrease."Source: Morning Sun (Registration is required. kelpdiver 2 #2 June 1, 2006 damn - John. I keep hoping one of these postings will confirm the destruction of Prop H in San Francisco. 17 days to the deadline for the judge to release his decision. BTW, I don't like California being included as part of the 47. If it's not shall issue, it doesn't count to me.
kallend 2,180 #3 June 1, 2006 Well, no more arrests like this one, I guess: While driving on I-35 in Noble County, Oklahoma, Charles Hanger, an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman from Pawnee, Oklahoma, stopped Timothy McVeigh for speeding, just minutes after the bombing, as he raced toward central Kansas in a car with no license plate. He was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, and almost released before he was identified three days later as the subject of a worldwide manhunt.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

I keep hoping one of these postings will confirm the destruction of Prop H in San Francisco. 17 days to the deadline for the judge to release his decision. Yep, that one is coming soon. San Fran did the same thing about a decade ago, and were shot down by a judge. I'm sure that the judge this time will consider that precedent, and do the same thing. But that doesn't stop the goofball liberals from trying again, even though they know they'll fail. It's all about using taxpayer money to drain the NRA with lawsuits. QuoteBTW, I don't like California being included as part of the 47. If it's not shall issue, it doesn't count to me. Agreed. The number of "shall issue" states is up to about 38 or 39, I believe. Still a very substantial percentage.
